General Information
The Meteorit International Theatre Group (MITG) manages the Meteorit theatre, a space for contemporary art in the form of theatre, dance, music, visual art exhibitions and multi-genre events. We are a nonprofit organization and our space – office and stage - is located in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. MITG staff is composed by four people working in full-time basis, one intern and two regular collaborators. Before every performance one international casting is held and the actors are chose according to the needs of the project. MITG productions are always multilingual and performed in as many countries as possible. MITG funding is a mixture of grants, corporate and individual contributions and income-generating activities. At the moment MITG has three main donors: ZSE (the electric company), the European Commission and the International Visegrad Fund. Other money comes from individuals who make small contributions and from renting out our space to others who want to use it to hold events. MITG makes only a little money from ticket sales (prices are low in Slovakia for culture). MITG budget for the previous year was sixty four thousand seven hundred euros (64.700). MITG main partners are: The Cultural institute of Hungary in Bratislava, The Cultural Institute of Poland in Bratislava and The Czech Institute in Bratislava and in Budapest.
