Following its annual tradition since its inauguration, the Anna Lindh Foundation launches the 8th edition of the Mediterranean Journalist Award, calling on journalists of Written Press, Television, Radio and New Media, who are citizens of the 42 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean, in addition to Syrian and Libya, to submit their works for the Award until the 31st May 2014 (12.00 Egyptian time, GMT+2).
Submitted works should tackle intercultural issues between and within Euro-Mediterranean societies. In addition, a special award will be dedicated this year to the theme “The diverse faces of intolerance in the Euro-Mediterranean Region”. A jury made up of eminent media professionals and outstanding intellectuals will select the 5 winners to be awarded during a prestigious awarding ceremony.
The awarding ceremony this year will be hosted by the Thomson Reuters Foundation, in partnership with Ashark Al-Awsat, BBC Arabic and the Allianz Cultural Foundation. The Award will take place in October, 2014, at the headquarters of the Thomson Reuters Foundation in Canary Warf, with the prominent British journalist Tim Sebastian chairing our Jury for the second year in a row.
Works could have been published in printed/online media, or broadcast on radio or television between the 1st of June 2013 and 1st of May 2014.
Winners will receive a cash prize and will be involved in Anna Lindh Foundation’s regional activities during a whole year.
