Translation for Dialogue

On 23rd and 24th June 2016, the Slovenian Municipality of Piran will host the “Translation for Dialogue” Conference, co-organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI), on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Slovenian independence.

The conference will gather around 100 experts and cultural actors involved in the field of translation to showcase, debate and advocate for translation as a central tool for intercultural dialogue.


Opening Concert of Molataqa Dawrak

The Anna Lindh Foundation has organized on 1 December 2014 a music concert with the prominent musician Tarek Al Nasser (Jordan), in collaboration with Rum group (Jordan), Mohamed Mohsen (Egypt) and with a number of musicians from the Library of Alexandria Orchestra and the Sayed Darwish Orchestra. The concert was held at the Sayed Darwish Opera House in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Egyptian Opera House.


Final Showdown Battle - 1st Dawrak Music Debate in Alexandria

After months of hard work, preparations and training, Alexandria will be witnessing the birth of eight young rappers of its own, as Dawrak Music Debate is having its final concert at St. Gabriel School, Saturday 28 June, at 6:00pm.

Dawrak Music Debate, led by professional musicians, is adopting a concept of "music as a tool for dialogue" to enable these young talents with knowledge and skills on debating through rap and using music as a mean for self-expression.


Youth at the center of future European Neighbourhood Policy

Farah El Bahr 2010

The latest edition of the ‘Farah El Bahr’ Cultural Festival took place between the 4th and 5th of November  at the historic Qaitbey Citadel in Alexandria.

Building on the success of previous festivals, the 2010 event involved for the very first time performers travelling to Alexandria from European countries, including Spain, Germany and Belgium, as well as artists across Egypt, including Sinai, Siwa, Cairo, Port Said and Aswan.
