General Information

INJAZ was founded in 1999 as a project under a USAID-funded program, Save the Children. In 2001, INJAZ became an independent, nonprofit Jordanian organization. Over the past 18 years, INJAZ has established itself as a leading solution provider linking the public, private, and civil society sectors to bridge the skills gap between the educational system and the changing needs of the labor market. The expansive operational capacity of INJAZ allows it to benefit over two million youth since its establishment. Providing over 34,000 volunteering opportunities. INJAZ implemented programs in all 12 governorates of Jordan working alongside and within 3,705 schools, 44 universities and colleges, and 10 social institutions, 23 vocational training institutions, centers for youth with disability. INJAZ is strongly positioned in Jordan. In addition to a broad network of domestic and international private sector partners, it has cooperation agreements with key ministries, including the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC), the Ministry of Social Development (MOSD), the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) and the Vocational Training Center (VTC). Furthermore, INJAZ is distinguished by its robust network of private sector partners who provide critical insight into employer perspectives which guides the demand-driven design of INJAZ programs. INJAZ’s portfolio of programs addresses the wide range of needs of young Jordanians and complement the education and training provided by traditional educational institutions with programs develop the vital soft and hard skills necessary to be competitive job candidates and entrepreneurs in the private sector. Over the years, INJAZ has developed its own programs in consultation with local and regional experts and collaborated with international development organizations to bring new, high-impact programs to Jordan and adapt them to local sensibilities. INJAZ has established mySTARTUP incubator that builds on INJAZ’ resources, expertise and network to promote entrepreneurship and enable start-ups to become a driving force towards the enhanced and equal participation and economic development of youth and women. mySTARTUP objective is to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jordan and to contribute to job creation and income generation. INJAZ is supporting youth to reach a national impact to enhance sustainable growth, promote job creation and address obstacles in the areas of business environment and competitiveness. Its efforts are also aligned with the Jordan National Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprise Growth Strategy 2015-2019, which aims to reduce constraints that limit the developmental potential of such enterprises, including the lack of entrepreneurial knowledge among youth and the shortage of specialized educational opportunities

Main Projects / Activities

ur programs serve youth from seventh grade to university level and post-graduation with relevant and unique content, activities, and projects that improve students’ and youth’s entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, communication and interpersonal, ethical leadership, teamwork, and creative thinking skills. For older youth in universities/colleges, youth centers, and Vocational Training Institutes (VTIs) the majority of the programs offered provide direct links to real-world opportunities and support (e.g. through entrepreneurships, internships, job placement, enterprise creation and management) for them to gain work experience or otherwise develop their professional and entrepreneurial skillset.
