Plain Ink is a non-profit educational and publishing organisation harnessing the power of books, media and storytelling to create brighter futures for children, their families and their communities. Plain Ink is the first organisation of its kind.
Mission and Objectives

As aboveBelieving in the power of education to transform lives, Plain Ink sparks positive change in developing and developed countries alike by:
• producing and distributing culturally appropriate and stimulating literacy and learning materials
• meaningfully engaging individuals, communities, local organisations and governments to actively contribute to the reality they live in
Ultimately, Plain Ink strives to create a world where education has the potential to uplift people out of poverty, help them reach their full potential and to become a bridge to mutual understanding and peace.

Main Projects / Activities

Education and literacy are not only linked to access to schools and teachers, but also to stimulating and appropriate learning material. Understanding this, Plain Ink works in both developing and developed countries, creating unique programs with a meaningful impact.
In developing countries Plain Ink:
1. Creates, designs and distributes free books, comics and other literacy and learning aids to pupils, schools, institutions, libraries and communities
2. Partners with and trains writers, illustrators and storytellers to produce enjoyable, inspiring and culturally appropriate content in line with local values and traditions
3. Sustains the local creative economy by creating employment and supporting the publishing and printing industry, developing and sourcing everything in the communities and countries it serves
4. Engages adult individuals and communities to become active agents of change through free skill-building training programs, with a view to use education to generate sustainable livelihoods
In developed countries Plain Ink:
1. Creates, designs and sells bilingual, illustrated children’s books presenting diverse cultures, backgrounds and countries
2. Reaches out to pupils, teachers and schools through an innovative newspaper promoting open-mindedness, intercultural understanding and hands-on learning
3. Encourages a culture of mutual respect and acceptance by sparking intercultural and interfaith dialogues through reading events, creative workshops and activities of cultural diplomacy
