General Information
The REC Country Office in Turkey started its operations in 2004 after signing the REC Charter in 2002 and the Bilateral Agreement between the Government of Turkey and the REC.
REC Turkey works closely with all major stakeholders including the government, NGOs businesses and the finance sector. Thanks to its non-advocacy and non-partisan nature, it works at equal distance to all different sectors and stakeholders. Not only does it work actively in projects, it also contributes actively to ongoing national and international initiatives in attaining the goals of sustainable development through its different support programmes. REC Turkey believes in the importance of governance approach and multi-stakeholder participation in environmental decision-making processes.
Mission and Objectives
Working on different fields of sustainable development, the REC gives support to environmental stakeholders on topics such as environmental policy, biodiversity, climate change, renewable energy, environmental information, water and waste management.
