The action “Emerging nonviolent civil society actors in the Euro-Mediterranean region” aims to empower Youth leaders, groups and CSO in order to participate effectively in the political transitions to democratic societies where dialogue, respect to diversity and respect to Human Rights are the basic pillars.
The project particularly works to advance a regional solidarity and strategy through: (1) identifying key priorities, challenges and lessons learned from country experiences, while increasing understanding and dialogue between them; and (2) defining a common “route plan” of co-operation between the target groups with concrete coordination, training and research/reflection activities.
The Open Dialogue Space in Tunisia will be the starting point of one-year project which will include innovative training programmes, case studies of the nonviolent movements in the region and accurate mapping and consultation process to identify key leaders and groups and the national and regional priorities of the new emerging Civil Society from Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine and eventually Syria.
With this aim, Nova-Social Innovation (project leader, Spain) and the project partners in this proposal: iWatch (Tunisia), Un Ponte Per (Italy), Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (Palestine), Pax Christi (Netherlands), Foundation for Future (Jordan, regional), Beyond Reform & Development (Lebanon) and the Nonviolence Network in the Arab Countries / PPM (Lebanon, regional), have engaged for the past seven years in
