General Information
Keshet is a Nonprofit Organization. It currently employs 5 people:Executive Director, Peofessional Dvelopment Coordinator, Curricula Writer, Maintenance manager and a guard. Our funding resources are privet donations and foundation contributions, plus money that comes from the local municipality for maintenance of the Jerusalem Campus. Our budget is dedicated to our educational work in schools and kindergartens. Keshet offers ongoing teacher development opportunities. It provides special curricula. It participates in pre-training for young teachers at the David Yellin College in Jerusalem and wishes to lead a dialogue based educational initiative for pluralistic organizations in the city.
Mission and Objectives

The main objective of the Keshet model of education is to influence Israeli society in large by educating children over a significant length of time (kindergarten to 12th grade) to be open minded, respectful and tolerant members of society. We believe that in the long run this will inspire Israeli citizens and future governance, and will hopefully be reflected both inside our society and outside.
The Keshet Association is a Nonprofit Organization dedicated to the development and enhancement of a collective Jewish culture which is based on respect and dialogue, and to creating school curricula and educational settings in which families and staff from different observance backgrounds share the same values. We work to achieve our goals by:
• Supporting and developing curricula for Keshet schools and kindergartens.
• Providing ongoing professional development for Keshet staff as well as other pluralistic schools in and around Jerusalem.
• Expanding our work to more schools in the country that are interested to adopt our model.
• Organizing pluralistic communal activities in our Jerusalem Campus.
• Providing pre-training professional development classes for teachers in the area of Jewish Culture, together with the David Yellin College for teachers in Jerusalem.
• Creating a center for Dialogue based Pluralistic Education in collaboration with other organizations in Jerusalem.
The Keshet School is an educational community dedicated to promoting a respectful life style in Israel. By addressing the diverse needs and sensitivities of Israel’s many religious and secular populations, Keshet aims to create an environment that promotes mutual understanding, effectively eliminating the concept of “the other” that fragments and destabilizes Israel.
