General Information
The Mediterranean Forum for Youth "FOMEJE" is a Moroccan NGO that was founded in 2005 by a group of youth who were dealing with youth issues in the city of Assilah in the North of the Kingdom of Morocco. In 2007 FOMEJE started to work at the national level together with some other NGOs that were interested in the youth advocacy and activism and oppened its doors to all people from all over Morocco. Vision: Fomeje aims to become a hub of young leaders, committed, creative and initiators of change that makes the difference in the world. Currently it's considered as one of the biggest NGOs in Morocco after hosting many projects in different programmes and partners like the Council of Europe, the League of Arab States, Anna Lindh Foundation, ISESCO... The main activities and fields of FOMEJE are interreligious and intercultural dialogue, youth work, democracy, human rights, environment... FOMEJE is also a network of other NGOs that were established in the big universities in Morocco that are working as youth clubs in these universities. Our Slogan : New Vision, New Future •New vision: The Mediterranean Youth Forum has a new modern and advanced vision: to provide an exchange between cultures and generations, both domestically and internationally, this is reflected by the various exchange projects that FOMEJE organizes as well as by its multiple agreements with numerous Arab and European organizations.. •New future: Morocco recently knows big changes that will have an impact on the structure of our society, FOMEJE is involved in these changes by encouraging young people - source of mobility and innovation to get involved in politics and to develop their democratic values for a better future.
Mission and Objectives

Mission:
Coaching young Moroccans in the various issues of public interest, while enhancing their skills, and share the great values of humanity.
Fields of interventions:
Project management strengthening the role of youth in public policy.
Promoting the culture of entrepreneurship.
Education and promotion of intercultural dialogue.
Objectives:

Education and capacity building of youth

Promote research on youth issues

Foster dialogue and cultural exchange between international and Moroccan youth

Raise awareness and educate young people about the risks to their health and environment

Promoting arts, cultures and sports

Monitoring and evaluating public policies in the field of media and new technologies of information and communication.

Encourage youth participation in the management of local, National and International matters

Integrate youth in a precarious situation in the concerns of the society

Main Projects / Activities

Our NGO is working with youth for youth by empowering their skills and competences in different sectors through non formal education and nowadays through outdoor activities for a better team work inside our NGO but also to have them well integrated in the society to defend their rights and be effective in their entourages. We give them a chance to take part in trainings and youth meetings at the local, national and international level where they will rediscover themselves and improve their knowledge in many topics such as active participation, citizenship, immigration, human rights education, gender equality, environment, sustainable development…
Specially the related activities were implemented with local youth councils created by FOMEJE and the FOMEJE clubs inside the universities.
