General Information

The REC Country Office Slovakia (www.rec.sk) was established in 1992 and has developed excellent cooperation with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), ministries, local municipalities, academic institutions and businesses. The office prepared the Slovak Republic's National Strategy for Sustainable Development while cooperating with more than 150 experts.

Mission and Objectives

The REC Slovakia Expertise is Sustainable development at national, regional and local level; Nature protection (greenery management, nature protection legislation); Environmental policy and legislation focused on Natura 2000; Local Branding of products; Environmental and sustainable development education; Public participation and dissemination activities

Project: Urban spaces – enhancing the attractiveness and quality of the urban environment, Acronym UrbSpace (Central Europe Program; ERDF-85%), budget 2.5 mil EUR
Project: Green and Blue Space Adaptation for Urban Areas and Eco Towns, Acronym: GRaBS (Interreg IVC); budget 200.000 EUR
Project: Promoting the Protection of Nature and Biodiversity in Urban Areas: Award European Capital of Nature and Biodiversity, Acronym: Capital of Biodiversity (LIFE+); budget 200.000 EUR
