Memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Anna Lindh Foundation

On the 6th January 2016, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between the Maltese Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Anna Lindh Foundation in preparation for the third edition of the Anna Lindh Mediterranean Forum, which will be held in Malta on 24 and 25 October 2016. 

In expressing Malta’s continued support to the foundation and its principles, Minister George Vella reiterated his strong commitment to the successful outcome of the forthcoming Mediterranean Forum. Minister Vella explained that the Mediterranean will feature as one of Malta’s main priorities during its EU Presidency in 2017, and underlined the need to have a long-term vision for the Mediterranean, which should be addressed as a single region. Minister Vella also welcomed the close collaboration between the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Union for the Mediterranean, emphasising the importance of increasing cultural and people-to-people contacts through the implementation of projects and exchanges.
