Building on the meetings held in October and November 2021 and March 2022 in hybrid formats to frame the Multiannual Work Programme of the Foundation 2022 - 2025, the members of the ALF Board of Governors met on 29th of June in Brussels and approved the ALF Annual Work Programme 2022.

The 2022 Work Programme covers the activities from January to March 2022 under the previous Phase funded by DG NEAR and the Member States as well as the Working Packages planned from April to December 2022 related to the New Phase Programme under Action Grant Phase VI concluded with the European Commission.

While the outbreak of Covid-19 has hindered in-person intercultural exchanges and mobility  over the past two years, the Foundation’s 2022 Plan is focused on invigorating the work of the National Networks to promote intercultural initiatives useful for societies and institutions, empowering CSO’s to thrive in the post-pandemic world while adapting to the context and reality of each country.

In this regard, and a result of the close cooperation with the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat, the ALF Annual Work Programme 2022 includes specific intercultural dialogue components to foster the Day of the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean Capital for Dialogue, which will also be part of the ALF’s contribution to the relaunch of in-person intercultural exchanges and CSOs mobilisation.

In addition, the ALF will organise a series of activities in the upcoming months to assess the impact of the war in Ukraine on the Euro-Mediterranean region on different intercultural fields where the ALF is working.

With the aim of ensuring progressive performance and constant optimisation of ALF programming to better ensure the impact of the Foundation’s work, more focus on content, more administrative simplification, more quality control of outputs and outcomes, and more assistance to reach the expected results, are at the core of the ALF Annual Work Programme 2022.
