The Anna Lindh Foundation announces the shortlisted nominees of the 2017 Euro-Med Dialogue AWard. This years’ edition marks the11th edition of the Awards programme since its creation in 2006 by the Foundation and the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Italy. The Bestowing Ceremony will take place on 14 December 2017 at the Estonian Film Museum with the support of the Estonian Foreign Ministry.
The nominees for the 11th edition of the Anna Lindh Euro-Med Dialogue Award are:
Banda Internationale: In cooperation with 9 professional and amateur musicians from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Burkina Faso, “Banda Internationale” has produced a concert programme combining music from the countries of origin of all musicians involved. The target of this project is not limited to refugee musicians, but they want to enhance more than music their own commitment and the commitment of their fellow citizens to help refugees’ transition to life in Germany.
iHopp: a creative project led by the National Museums of World Culture with the aim to create an intercultural dialogue platform to facilitate integration of newcomers and local community members. In the frame of iHopP, digital storytelling was used for the voices to get heard and to give meaning and context to the participants’ experiences. They filmed more than 24 stories in Gothenburg in 2017.
Social Enterprise: Wind of Renewal (“Anemos Ananeosis”): Their project, Welcommon, is an innovative, model community center for accommodating refugees, especially people in need of long term care, by promoting social inclusion and job integration of vulnerable groups of refugees.
