The UfM Webinar on the acceleration of digital transformation of higher education in the Mediterranean will take place online on 19 November from 10:00 to 11:30 CET. 

Digital transformation of higher education was already a reality before the coronavirus crisis, but the current pandemic is accelerating the process. The confinement measures forced universities, at very different stages of digital transformation, to find alternative ways to deliver education.  

This webinar will focus on how current threats could be transformed into opportunities to improve the quality and inclusiveness of teaching. The session is addressed to those involved in the definition of strategies for Higher Education Institutions in the Mediterranean including students, teachers, higher education leaders and policymakers. 

The process of digital transformation involves the entire higher education systems and entails reassessing priorities related to investments in infrastructures and human resources, within the HEIs themselves, but also at national, regional, and international levels. Multilateral collaboration can counteract digital divides, but it is also required to define common technology norms and values, in a process in which multi-stakeholder participation is necessary.  

The webinar will be conducted in English and French and is free and open to everyone.
