Opening Webinar of the SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change

On February 3, 2021 it will be held the Opening Webinar of the SubNetwork Climate and Environmental Change that currently counts 34 member Universities from 14 countries of both shores of the Mediterranean.

The webinar will be the first official meeting of the SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change and it is divided into two separated sessions. The first session, held in the morning, will be focused on the SubNetwork presentation and on the impact of climate change in the Mediterranean Region.

During this session there will be the participation of Prof. Wolfgang Cramer, environmental geographer and global ecologist, research director (CNRS) at the Mediterranean Institute for Biodiversity and Ecology (IMBE), in Aix-en-Provence (France) who will introduce the report “Climate and Environmental Change in the Mediterranean Basin. Current Situation and Risks for the Future. 1st Mediterranean Assessment Report” prepared by the independent network of Mediterranean Experts on Climate and environmental Change (MedECC).

This morning session will start at 11.00 am (CET) and is open to anyone interested in the topic of climate change. To attend in this session, please register here by 29 January 2021.

In the afternoon, the work session is reserved only to the SubNetwork Members, to learn what Universities do in the field of climate change and to discuss the SubNetwork action plan for the upcoming months. This afternoon session will start at 2.00 pm (CET).

The SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change is coordinated by the University of Girona (Spain) and the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (Morocco) in close collaboration with the UNIMED office in Rome. Discover more on this SubNetwork.
