Sardinia is one of the poorest areas of Italy, despite a great potential rooted in history, culture and environmental heritage. Meanwhile, Beirut has a lot of places that need to be enhanced from a cultural and economic point of view. Hence the organizers of the LEB-SARD Festival set out to collaborate for a common show involving important local artists (mainly Hiba Kawas from Lebanon and Fabio Furia from Italy) and to organize public events for spreading the role of music and theatre as mean of socio-cultural-economic development of under-used places and as an instrument of intercultural dialogue among Euro-Mediterranean people.

In order to assure the sustainability of the festival, applicants and partners invited other bodies (Public Institutions, other NGOs, associations,…) to sign the “LEB-SARD Agreement” with the aim to support the organization of future editions of the Festival and other common initiatives in the field.
