How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We are experienced in organising youth projects with/for youngsters, using non formal education as methodology that helps to achieve our/their aims.
We belong to an informal youth network in Europe because of the great number of projects we participated in or organised.
The staff & volunteers are eager to help other organisations to create projects within Youth in Action Programme, & assess on other youth programmes in Europe.
We will also give visibility to the Anna Lindh Foundation to youngsters, local organisations, local administrations & our network via Internet/facebook, so that it is better known & to give the possibility to participate in its projects in the future.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We wish to create new projects & find new partners, especially to foster human rights, equal opportunities for all, & intercultural learning.
Until now, we tried to do projects within EUROMED quite unsucessfully, because it is difficult to find partners in the north of Africa and once we got them, it was not possible to get visa. So we hope to overcome these problems with the support of the foundation too.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We believe that we can contribute to the ANF network in our country by bringing new ideas and perspectives to the Spanish network, as well as participating with new educational techniques and collaborating with new partners.
Talasa Association is a relatively recent NGO, but we have a great sense of responsibility and work, and this is a priority for us at all times in order to provide quality products. That is why, despite our short duration, we have already worked successfully on many projects and with different partners.
Relations between Mediterranean countries are often not given the importance that they really have and we believe that from our role as part of the Spanish civil society, we can advocate for improving the general knowledge in the population, as well as offering new educational opportunities. Whenever we carry out and manage projects we always try to introduce participants from different parts of Spain, as well as with different levels of opportunity, in order to achieve an ever-greater reach and an accomplishment of objectives that will bring about real change in society.
Therefore, we wish to contribute to the ANL network in our country in order to have a new and fundamental way of opportunities for the participants. As well as a task to motivate and disseminate Mediterranean relations in our country, introducing new actors, methodology and innovative approaches.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

The Talasa Youth Association arose from the interest of a group of classmates in the Master of the Complutense University of Madrid, "The European Union and the Mediterranean". Therefore, the focus on the Mediterranean region has been a priority at all times, even before the association was formalised as such.
The theme of the Mediterranean and the possibility of bringing these countries closer together seems to us to be fundamental. We live facing the Mediterranean, but we are often unaware of what exists on the other side of the sea. We want to participate in the ANF Network in order to provide learning opportunities and bring these shores closer together, which we believe are very similar and where it is possible to learn in all respects.
We want to be able to deepen our Mediterranean richness and give value to all the opportunities that are taking place around it, as is the case of the opportunities offered by the Anna Lindh Foundation. We want to be able to offer quality education and teachings from the Mediterranean to our local area, as well as to share our perspectives and culture in other places in order to enhance dialogue and bridge building. This bridge-building is, after all, one of the main objectives of the Talasa Youth Association, and we hope that these bridges can be built throughout the Mediterranean.

In addition, we have experience working in the field of Erasmus +, and we have a large network and collaborators that will be at the disposal to any member of this network. We believe that being part of a network like this will also allow us to find quality support to develop our actions and that these reach those who need it most, as well as offer us the opportunity to learn about issues that are happening in other realities and we can contibute to solving them, and develop new skills that our new partners dominate. We trust that there is strength in unity, and we have realized that working as a team with other associations interested in contributing with solutions to the same problem will allow us to better distribute our actions and, above all, generate a greater impact.

To goal sustainability we invest a lot of efforts in diffusing and distributing updated and reliable information and in encouraging the utilization of information for the shaping of virtuous and socially viable behaviors. We are working nowadays in the promotion of Erasmus+: Youth in Action around Canarias region.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Our expertise organizing various kinds of events give the chance to Anna Lidh Foundation (ALF) EuroMed to implement meetings and international conferences among EuroMed countries and european countries.
The Canary Islands are a spanish archipelago located just off the southern coast of Morocco, 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of its southern border. The geographical situation of Canaries and its environmental & climate conditions allows the organisations of international events all along the year, specially in winter time.
The direct flight connections from Canaries to european countries are complemented with direct flights to several african countries, including Maroc, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia and Green Cape Islands.
Considering we receive over 12 million visitors per year, the capability of islands to host huge groups are very well demonstrated.
La Tierra Verde has an important experience in youth international projects, so that we could offer ALF EuroMed partners updated information related to know how, and even participation in defined projects to be implemented in any of Canary Isles.
Our diversity is not only on nature. Human diversity is very wide in our opinion. The overwhelming majority of native Canarians are Roman Catholic with various smaller foreign-born populations of other Christian beliefs such as Protestants from northern Europe. But there are important number of Muslims (just in Gran Canaria there are no less than 8 mosques). Other religious faiths represented include The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as Hinduism (with the biggest India community in Spain). Minority religions are also present such as Buddhism, Baha'i & Corean Christian church. The cohabitance of these beliefs are excelent.
So that, in our opinion Canary Islands & La Tierra Verde could offer ALF EuroMed a new approach about intercultural dialogue.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

During years of participation in youth international projects, we have seen that some EuroMed (and not only) partners are members of ALF, very involved in activities all along the region.
After long debates in our organisation, we have seen that to became members of ALF EuroMed is a good chance for both sides: the experience in international projects in a priveleged atlantic region as Canaries and the strength of a prestigious international organisation with a very important number of members and very good & professional activities for interculturality and mutual understanding.
In our opinion, a great combination.

General Information

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
