The mission of the Centre of Visual Arts & Research is to promote the culture and history of Cyprus locally and abroad in a spirit of reconciliation and understanding among the different communities of the island. At the same time, the CVAR is intended as a forum for research and discussion, and a space in which educational and cultural events and activities can flourish. CVAR aims to:

The Anna Lindh Foundation Cyprus Network engages civil society organisations and other entities within the island in local, national, and regional cross-cultural cooperation and learning. Established in 2005, the growing Cyprus Network counts over 50 members, reflecting the diversity of the Cypriot civic space and including members that are civil society organisations, private and public entities, research centres, and informal groups.

The aim of the Network is to create synergies and build bridges among citizens and to support and promote activities aiming at discovering and understanding multiculturalism both in Cyprus and the EuroMediterranean region. In line with the ALF mission and priorities, the Network promotes the development of synergies with organisations from all the countries where the Foundation has a presence, disseminates information about the opportunities and possibilities for cooperation and learning that are available, and organises member meetings, debates, capacity-building initiatives, and networking events.

Historical Background of your Network

The Anna Lindh Cyprus Network was established in 2005. The network has been coordinated by the NGO Support Centre and Rooftop Theatre since 2017. Both organisations have extensive experience in managing programmes and initiatives that strengthen civil society and civic engagement at national, regional, and European levels.

- to represent CAA members to authorities, organisations, initiatives, conferences, etc. and relays necessary information to and from the members.
- to provide assistance and encourage scientific and statistical research, studies, articles, dissertations in relation to the objects of interest / purposes of the Association.

Main Projects / Activities

There are no definite main projects set yet.
The board is considering and assessing a few options for:
- workshops for professionals (online or offline depending on covid circumstances)
- networking events
- competitions
- outreach to youth with consultation on studies and practical workshops
- assist / participate in local animation festivals

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

CAA could be involved in cultural, media, youth outreach and education workshops, discussions and events that may have some connection with animation, arts, creative enterprise, creative intellectual property and other possible related themes/subjects.

CAA could consult and initiated animation competitions in collaboration/partnership with other organisations by setting specific themes to create awareness for specific issues/subjects.

As a local Cypriot association we are interested in bi-communal initiatives.

**We would like to discuss and explore further how CAA can contribute to ALF

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

- As we are also an ASIFA chapter (mentioned above) we find that our association values are in line with ALF as well.
- To connect with other member organisations and individuals and explore any opportunities for collaboration and synergies.
- To engage in inter-cultural and inter-disciplinary dialogues.
- CAA and its members could benefit from being part of such a large network of NGO's and organisations, opening networking, communication and other opportunities.
- We hope to find and also give support, if ever needed, in raising important issues and influencing policy makers regarding our members' and communities' welfare.
