General Information

We do not have employees. We work with volunteers and we engage ourselves as volunteers. All of our work is voluntary at the moment. We pay all the activity ourselves. We publish professional articles and occasionally lectures at colleges - Faculty and Universities. If is necessary, we send a CV to get acquainted with the lectures. We also attend conferences as the last was European Summit in Prague. We hope that we will expand our knowledge with your experience.

 

Mission and Objectives

Our goal is to enrich cooperation with other non-profit organizations in your system - the Mediterranean region, learn and transfer knowledge to our field. At the same time, we would be able to give a glimpse of our activity and make it look better with your suggestions. Based on workshops, we would carry out program activities in our area with the aim of strengthening international and domestic understanding of multicultural cooperation. This would be useful with more views.

 

Main Projects / Activities

We will prepare some future projects in the field of multicultural education and the integration of individual factors in the field of social work in our area. We are aware that the 4th technological revolution is coming, which will be very painful for some types of occupations and workers in the future. We are preparing special education and acquaintance with a wider range of people on this topic.

 

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

1  We are members of the Chamber of Social Enterprises (KPS), where we would organize the integration of multicultural factors into the educational and working system in companies.

2.  We are also members - associations of non-state non-profit organizations (ANNO), and we would like to extend our activities in this field with your help.

3  By organizing training workshops in our field and transferring our knowledge to a multicultural space.

 

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We are interested in intercultural dialogue and connections in the Mediterranean region. Therefore, in the future, we will also organize workshops and education, especially in the field of economics, and the inclusion of multicultural factors in the education process.

Le Forum Tchèque pour la Paix est une société créée à Prague en 2003. Les buts principaux sont : présenter au public tchèque les autres cultures, les valeurs humaines et approfondir la tolérance mutuelle.

1/Activités éducationnelles :
La conférence internationale « L´Appel de Prague pour L’Iraq » (Prague 2006).
Le FTP (?MF) fut un des co-organisateurs de la Conférence Internationale pour le 100e anniversaire du prix Nobel de la paix attribué à Bertha Suttner, dans les locaux du Sénat de la RT (Prague 2005), de la Conférence Internationale 1000 Peace Women, en collaboration avec la Fondation Rosa Luxembourg (Prague 2005).
La Conférence Internationale Européenne de la Paix ou l’Europe dans un monde à la paix durable (Prague 2003).

Institute of Near Eastern and African Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague inherits the tradition of Czech Oriental Philology since 1849. Its staff includes 3 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 6 Assistant Professors, 1 Assistant and 40 Ph.D. students and more than 70 M.A. students of History and Culture of Islamic Countries, Arabic Studies, Hebrew Studies, Turkish Studies, Persian Studies and African Studies. Institute regularly organises seminars and conferences, is involved in academic exchange, its main partners are Oriental Institute of Czech Academy of Sciences, Institute of Oriental Studies of Slovak Academy of Sciences, Naprstek Museum of Asian and African Cultures, and partner universities in Europe, United States, Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan and Turkey.

General Information

Our organization has been created in 1997 and thanks to our long tradition we have rich experience with foreigners and as such we belong among expert organizations in the field. For that reason, we provide services to support the integration of foreigners in long term perspective. We manage a Centre for Support of Integration of Foreigners in Ústecký region and we co-manage the Integration Centre in Prague. We provide registered professional social services and manage big and small projects that specialize on various aspects of support of equal opportunities for foreigners. Our organization is financed by state grants, EU funds and private donations. Their proportions differ each year. Our office in Ústí nad Labem implements project from AMIF (Asylum and Migration Fund), our office in Prague provides registered social service

 

 

Mission and Objectives

Counselling Centre for Integration is an NGO – civic association. Our goal is to help foreigners to integrate to ordinary life in Czech society. We help them to find accommodation, job or school. Therefore we help to foreigners to live satisfying life in the Czech Republic.
Based on our long experience we offer to foreigners that live legally in the territory of the Czech Republic, social counselling for free. Our social workers and legal department offer assistance in difficult life situations that people can come across to in every-day life. We help to solve challenges with accommodation, with application for state citizenship, with finding an employment and with communication with bureaus. In case you would be interested in our assistance you can arrange a meeting in our offices or with prior notice in place of your residence. In our opinion, every problem can be solved and the sooner it is taking care of the easier the solution is.
 

 

Main Projects / Activities

Our main activities focus on:
- Counselling on social matters.
- Counselling on matters of law.
- Counselling on family and education.
- Tutoring of children.
- Czech language lessons for every age category.
- Support of cultural identity and activities of communities of foreigners living in the Czech Republic.
Another field we focus on is support of respect of diversity and equal opportunities for foreigners in Czech society:
- We create analysis and publications concerning life of foreigners in the Czech Republic.
- We organize Multicultural Festival in Ústí nad Labem.
- We hold information campaigns, lectures, workshops and other happenings.

 

 

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Based on our long-term experience with this target group, we will be happy to share our expertise with other partners in the network. We may also share examples of positive (and negative) feedback of work with migrants.

General Information

The Czech Centres are a contributory organisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. They are an integral part of Czech foreign policy and a key cultural diplomacy tool. They operate within the public diplomacy domain, whose mission is to promote and support the good reputation of Czechia abroad and to strengthen cultural relations between countries. The Czech Centres are a cultural institute understanding culture in its broadest sense. They also provide Czech language classes abroad and participate in organising certified language exams. The Czech Centres have been an integral part of the EUNIC (The European Union National Institutes for Culture) network since its establishment in 2006. At present, there are 26 branches across 4 continents. The organisation has appx. 83 employees. Organizes more than 1700 events per year globally with various partners. The annaul budget is 10mil EUR.

Mission and Objectives

Czech Centres by the nature of their activities, the Czech Centres are the key actor representing the Czech Republic abroad and
the main institutional mediator of cultural interactions and building of relationships with international audiences. The Czech Centres link
significant actors of the Czech social and cultural life with relevant partners in foreign countries. In various territorial contexts they address a broad range of target groups and are an open platform for internternational cooperation and cultural dialogue.

Main Projects / Activities

The Czech Centres promote the Czech cultural scene (visual art, architecture, design, fashion, film, music, theatre, literature) in the world. The Czech Centres present the Czech Republic as a modern country with a rich cultural tradition. The programme strategy includes both global themes and the modern identity of the Czech Republic. In addition to a number of other activities, this includes the strengthening
of the Czech Republic’s image as a modern and innovative country firmly embedded in European structures; a country that responds
to the challenges of the current world.
In the area of education, science, research and innovation, the Czech Centres cooperate with universities and specialized institutions and organize courses of Czech. Czech language courses and education in general are supported by methodological and quantitative development and preparation of new types of courses according to territorial specificities, promotion of the Czech language by means
of cultural events and social ties and cooperation with Czech studies departments and universities in the Czech Republic and foreign territories.
In the area of supporting external economic relations, the Czech Centres link foreign cultural presentations with significant Czech export brands. They seek for export opportunities for Czech creative industries.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The Czech Centers as a network of cultural institutes that promote the Czech Republic abroad. They also cooperate with other Czech institutions and organizations. The Czech Centers can contribute to the Network of Anna Lindh Foundation by:

- Organizing and supporting events and projects that foster intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding between the Czech Republic and the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- Providing information and resources about the Czech culture, society, history, and current affairs to the public and the media in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
- Facilitating contacts and exchanges between Czech and Euro-Mediterranean civil society actors, such as NGOs, universities, schools, artists, curators, journalists, etc.
- Participating in the activities and initiatives of the Network of Anna Lindh Foundation, such as the Euro-Med Forum, the Young Mediterranean Voices programme, the Anna Lindh Report on Intercultural Trends and Social Change, etc.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

The Czech Centers aim to foster dialogue and cooperation with other countries and regions, especially in the fields of culture, education, science and innovation. Within the ALF platform wwe want to become partner for civil society organizations from the Euro-Mediterranean region and to share a common vision of intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

By joining the Ann Lindh Foundation Network, the Czech Centers hope to expand their reach and impact in the Mediterranean area, as well as to exchange best practices and experiences with other members of the network. The Czech Centers believe that joining the Ann Lindh Foundation Network will enhance their role as a bridge between cultures and contribute to the development of a more peaceful and inclusive society.

General Information

THE CZECH COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS is a non-governmental organization. It provides a setting for joint reflection on the European and global context of our existence. The speakers, guests, participants in the debates and authors of its publications express their private opinions. The Council is active mainly through its Club. Club members meet on a regular basis to exchange information and engage in discussions among themselves and with guests. Each meeting is introduced by a renowned Czech or foreign politician, diplomat, businessman, artist, scholar or other public personality. The Chatham House Rule is applied.

 

Mission and Objectives

The Council stimulates the interest of young people in the international relations. It supports different student activities and invites students for the Club meetings.

The Council published several books on international relations, e.g. the report of the Commission on Global Governance „Our Global Neighbourhood“, „The Great Misunderstanding“, „The Czech Republic and the European Union“ or „The Czech-German Relations after the Fall of Iron Curtain“.

 

Main Projects / Activities

Successful development of our society depends on our active participation in the dynamic processes of globalization. Our membership in the European Union opens new chances for our creative engagement. The new volume on „The Relations between Serbia and Montenegro“ is the first of prepared publications on topical issues of the Czech performance on the international scene.
