Budget for the year 2014: EVS Program: 25.000E, member subscriptions:  500E, from civilians: 80.000E, from events: 10.000E, from product selling: 15.000E, transportation income: 69.38E, Overall income: 130.569.38. “Family and Child” Association in order to achieve its goals it distributes emergency supplies, it organizes free lessons, labs, vocational guidance seminars, it provides psychosocial support, it informs and sensitizes civil society, it mobilizes volunteers, it cooperates with other organizations, it is a member of a voluntary organizations net and it participates actively in actions of the local society.
Mission and Objectives

THE MISSION AND THE GOALS OF THE ASSOCIATION
The charitable association “Family and Child” has Social Prosperity as its mission. It deals with the fight against poverty and pauperism, with inequality mitigation at a national level and it provides its services to families with minors, irrespective of religious, ideological and other beliefs, pursuing the amelioration of their living conditions. Meanwhile it contributes to the alleviation of other vulnerable social groups as well through the collaboration that has developed with other organizations and through its external actions.
To conquer its ultimate goal, the association sets certain specific objectives, such as:
1)Social change, 2) defense of human rights, 3) defense of children’ rights, 4) the formation of prerequisites for equal opportunities, 5) improvement of people’s living conditions, 6) amelioration of people’s socioeconomic condition, 7) avoidance of social exclusion, 8) keeping people updated, 9) sensitizing society, 10) organization of volunteer groups.

Main Projects / Activities

MAIN ACTS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION
The “Family and Child” actions focus initially on the coverage of the basic survival needs of a family. This is accomplished by providing them with food, cooked meals, breakfast, all sorts of clothing and footwear and utility items. Next the association aims at strengthening the parents and mobilizing them so that they become able to integrate into the labor market. To achieve this goal the association arranges free foreign languages lessons and craft workshops in order to enrich the CVs of the members. While at the same time it has created a special room with technical equipment to educate them on how to write and email a CV. Additionally, it schedules career orientation seminars where parents are informed about subsidized programs, jobs and their requirements. Meanwhile the association is aware of the crisis that our society faces which directly affects the mood of the parents and in turn it disturbs family harmony. Hence it takes care of their psychosocial condition by supporting them through parent counseling so that they become capable of managing the difficulties they encounter without letting stress be reflected on their children.
Furthermore, the association supports even more vulnerable social groups such as elderly, people with disabilities, people with addictions, immigrants, homeless etc. This takes shape through the collaborations that the association develops with other organizations, as well as through the external actions that it systematically schedules. Distributing food to homeless people, providing emergency supplies to individuals being in addiction cessation programs, organizing career orientation seminars in order to inform unemployed people, offering sanitary goods to correctional institutions, clothing and footwear to hosting centers for immigrants and providing food to the Mess are only some of the “Family and Child” actions.
Concluding, “Family and Child” association aims at informing and sensitizing our fellowmen, the organizations and generally the society for the benefit of the individuals being in need. This is accomplished by using the internet, through speeches to the members of the society (e.g. school speeches) and events where local community can actively participate.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The charitable association “Family and Child” is active for three years now, having human prosperity as its main goal.   It develops its foundations and actions always based on the new requirements that arise in our society. It is not characterized by a sterile perception but the association is open to new ideas and it can offer its knowledge and experience in the interest of the common good. Its experience in topics that concern human existence and its needs, which tend to alter and evolve in their own way based on the new facts, could contribute to the level of the actions’ effectiveness of the National network of Anna Lindh Foundation .

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

After a thorough consideration of the objectives and actions of Anna Lindh foundation, we acknowledge its significant work and we desire to actively participate in its actions. “Family and Child” is an association that supports individuals that are in need regardless of race, religion, ideology, political and cultural beliefs. It respects human existence and it promotes social wellbeing, by fighting for human rights and equal opportunities. It is significant, that first as individuals – members of the society and then as conveyors of a “message”, to take part in acts and programs that propel multiculturalism, coexistence, piece, dialogue, social change and social welfare.
As an organization, we take action in a country that struggles due to the financial and social plight while immigration has its own story with young people abandoning our country when at the same time others immigrate here for a “better tomorrow”. Therefore it is our responsibility to comprehend that human existence is a matter of primary importance.  Being united and work as a team can lead to great results for the wellbeing of human race while exchanging ideas and experiences can contribute to the formation of constructive acts.
“Family and Child” association has the ideology and the way of thinking that is in line with the goal that Anna Lindh Foundation has, that is why we are interested in participating in the National Network of this Foundation.

General Information
Fora etc. is a newly established dance company. Its artistic director is Medie Megas, choreographer, dancer, dance editor, dance and history of dance teacher and co-director of three documentary films. The company consists of two members at the moment but plans to expand, as its artistic activities expand. The main source of income for the company last year was the income from the presentation of its performance ‘Poetic Asylum’ at the Athens Festival 2008 and later in a rented theatre. After this the company was eligible and applied for a state subsidy. The results still haven't been publicized by the Greek ministry of culture. Also, Medie Megas, representing ‘Fora etc.’, has been partisipating in theoretical discussions, artistic events and contact sessions with the community and giving seminars in dance practise and theory. Collaborators: The Isadora Duncan Center of contemporary dance, the Elena Bakaloupoulou dance school + member of DBM network.
Mission and Objectives

Fora etc. is now rehearsing for its next choreographic project. At the same its artistic director has been partisipating in discussions about the future of Greek contemporary dance and giving lectures on her choreographic work, thus promoting the company’s contact with the audience and the artistic community. She is also giving seminars in dance practise.
Also Medie Megas is at present trying to establish a cooperative of Greek choreographers, in an attempt to deal with the general stand still in the artistic field and the intense problems of funds raising in Greece. In a country where artists are not used to collaborating in any way, this is a difficult undertaking but hopefully possible…

Main Projects / Activities

Fora etc. regards dance as an open field that can incorporate a multitude of means of expression, not easily categorized under other art forms. Also, it regards art as a medium of social awareness and civil action.
Both the founders of the company Manolis Andriotakis and Medie Megas consistently write articles in various cultural publications, in which they reflect on social and cultural phenomena. They wish to incorporate this frame of thought into their artistic practice, which is aimed to have a definite social content.
Fora etc. considers collaboration and mobility within various (Medieterranean, European, Worldwide) contexts as a necessary condition in order for the Greek artistic scene to revitalise itself. The company throught its varied actions and especially through Medie Mega’s position as member of the board of DBM (Danse Bassin Mediterranee), intends to promote this practise.

General Information

We are a small organisation consisting of four employees and dedicated volunteer instructors. Our annual budget is approximately 70k euros, made possible through various funding, including from key partners like THE SKATEROOM and Choose Love. Our mission revolved around using skateboarding as a powerful tool for positive change for youth. Our trusty van houses our mobile skatepark, carrying essential equipment to deliver free, accessible and inclusive skateboarding sessions throughout the Athens municipality. These sessions are open to all Athenian youth, but we prioritise underserved neighbourhoods with diverse communities. We aim to provide opportunities for youth to build skills, foster community and break down barriers. We believe skateboarding can empower and unite, creating lasting impact.

Mission and Objectives

Through skateboarding, Free Movement Skateboarding (FMS) supports the wellbeing, empowerment and social cohesion of youth in Athens, Greece. Together, on and off the board, we push for a welcoming and diverse Athenian skate scene and society.
FMS skateboarding sessions go beyond learning to skate and strive towards our three core values - wellbeing, empowerment and social cohesion - achieved through our skateboarding session delivery and wider youth development programming for socially excluded communities in Athens. With our mobile skatepark, we provide skateboarding in underserved communities by offering free of charge equipment and guidance, youth work discussions and an inclusive, welcoming and safe environment. We use a trauma informed approach to promote wellbeing through a yoga based warm up, whilst also encouraging youth to take a mindful approach to their skateboarding and the community around them. We empower all youth, with a focus on refugees, migrants and asylum seekers, girls and those with learning disabilities, by having them reflected in our coaching team as role models and discussing with them that if they can achieve on the board, they can achieve great things elsewhere. Social cohesion is achieved by creating the conditions for integration of diverse groups who wouldn't normally meet, sharing space in the skatepark and beyond. Long-term, this creates new connections from diverse participants in our sessions and the skate scene at large, giving youth the community they need to be empowered, healthy, active citizens, creating the changes they want to see in Athens.
Over the past year, we have been working with Concrete Jungle Foundation’s Edu-Skate Curriculum, a programme for youth personal development through skateboarding: going beyond skateboarding to empower youth with the tools to achieve and flourish, in order to be agents of change in their lives and communities through the Self-Determination Theory.

Main Projects / Activities

ince 2017, we have taught over 1100 sessions, with almost 3200 participants from our mobile skatepark. Of these, 39% are female and are from more than 62 different cultural backgrounds, all living in Athens.

FMS is designed to give access to the highest quality, sports based, trauma-informed youth work from trained professionals in the safest environment to marginalised youth. We meet the highest level of organisational competence and capacity as we are registered in both Greece as AMKE and the UK as a CIO under the Charity Commission, meeting the strict compliance regulations of both.

Our mobile skatepark gives crucial access to positive recreation to disadvantaged youth, allowing us to provide free equipment, trauma informed youth work and community building in a safe space. We deliver sessions in four different neighbourhoods throughout the week. This enables us to achieve three core aims:

1. Wellbeing: Skateboarding is mindful exercise, in which focus is necessary to learn new tricks, championing physical and mental health.
2. Empowerment: We create spaces in which women, people of colour, LGBTQI+ and other groups feel safe to develop their skills on and off the board.
3. Social Cohesion: Through the supportive, communal act of skateboarding, diverse youth share more than just space and build community.

Beyond public sessions, we implement an Edu-Skate curriculum, which teaches vital life skills to our participants, like persistence, respect, and courage.

We further help build and widen community by hosting events that brings the FMS community together with the wider local skate scene and others. Some smaller events are aimed at introducing new experiences and excitement to our participants.

Moreover, we are committed to advocacy work, continuously working to highlight and raise awareness about the challenges and realities faced by our community and the neighbourhoods we work in. This is an ongoing effort that highlights our dedication to making a lasting and meaningful impact.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

FMS is well-positioned to contribute to the network in our country by offering expertise in community building and advocacy, we have a strong understanding of our communities and neighbourhoods challenges and realities. Our unique approach to addressing the issues we aim to combat provides an interesting perspective. We believe in the importance of knowledge exchange and collaboration in fostering opportunities to learn from one another's experiences, unique strategies, and in enhancing collective efforts.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We want to join the ALF network because we believe in shared values and objectives. We see an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from the community, and actively contribute more to fostering inclusive and accepting societies, and combatting racism. ALF offers a platform for collaboration, amplifying our impact in pursuing our aims.
