General Information

The organization is Chairman of the Board and the Management Board consisting of 50% of young people aged 18-29 years. Funding is for scholarships or interest-free loans. Since 2016, we have started to provide services. Society as a whole is written exchange. Participates in other organizations events. We create discussions with local politicians on youth and young people's right to participate in improving the living conditions. We participate in the activities of equality, understanding, honesty and openness. The Association is a member organization of the Latvian Youth Council and its chairman of the board is a board member of LJP.

Mission and Objectives

Mission and goals Society's objectives are to: Rural and urban population participation in their quality of life promotion. Healthy life-style organization, active tourism, cultural and informal educational organization. Heritage cultivation and preservation. Youth and children initiatives promotion. Promoting youth participation in decision-making. Youth and children's involvement in public life. Children and students sporting events. Promote youth understanding about what is happening not only in their home parish of the country, but give the opportunity to talk about what is happening in the world to analyze. For compassion, equality, democracy, opportunities to speak and express their opinions freely, that does not affect people's brush.

Main Projects / Activities

The association is valid for 3 years, so at the moment we are writing to exchange projects with the non-formal education provides young people learn other countries to get to know young people to make contacts, work together in mixed teams, not to be afraid to use the language, although it is not perfect. The project we create the environment in which young people learn to be tolerant of other people regardless of race, religion, color and so on.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Being active in the Anna Lindh Foundation, talk about the Foundation's activities. Nest Foundation on behalf of our events organized. As far as possible to help fund activities and the realization of the idea!

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We would like to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Latvian network so that we can be active and full members of this fund. Because the Fund supports nowadays much-needed democracy, freedom of expression, compassion, equality. As far as possible we are ready to support with human resources, ideas and willingness to act in the public good.

General Information
The organization operates on the basis of statutes, headed by three members of the board, including the chairman of the board. The organization operates 15 members who are involved in if you need help in organizing activities or the completions of a projects, etc. The association has signed a cooperation agreement whit the local government (Beverīnas county government) from which we derive most of the financial support, apart from the projects. At present, the government is also our main partner.
Mission and Objectives

Organization's objectives are to:
1. Promote Brenguļu youth initiatives and participation in decision-makeing and social life.
2. Multifaceted personality improvement, education and leisure opportunities for resident of the county.
Our mission is to involve more and more young people in public life. Offer them a variety of options - to learn new things, meet new peoples, etc.

Main Projects / Activities

Our last major project involves the acquision of inventorty to ensure that local people offer diverse sport hall. Those funding foreseen were raised for the LEADER project, whoses total value was around Ls 17000. So fare we have written the twinning as an example I can mention on of the co-operation with the Estonian areas, which led to exchange visits in order to gain knowledge about what is happening there and youth activities.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

In order to facilitate network popularity from our part we can carry out different types of presentations to our fiends, local citizents, in seminars, etc.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We want to join the ALF, because it is a great opportunity to get to know new people, hetting to know other cultures. Opportunity to exchange knowladge and experience stories.

General Information

The organization consists of board, members, volunteers and participants of activities. Organization has partner organizations in Latvia and Europe. Organization is member in NGO Association of Tukums Region and CESIE Federation (Italy). Organization budgetary resources are member fees and annual support of Tukums Municipality. Most of activities are voluntary or financed by EU funds. Organization activities are non-formal education trainings, mobility projects like voluntary service, job shadowing, learning partnerships and networking. Organization delivers information and gives advice for those who are interested in local and international initiatives in non-formal education and youth field. Our partners in local level are NGOs, youth centre, social youth centre and municipality of Tukums Region. In international level NGOs in countries like Italy, the UK, France and others.

The aim of organization is to promote mutual understanding and tolerance between individuals and society groups with different cultural, religion, national, race, social and economical background and health condition. Organization promotes equal possibilities for everyone.

Main Projects / Activities

Participation and implementation of EU programmes (Youth in Action, Lifelong Learning programme, Europe for Citizens programme) projects like youth exchanges, European voluntary service, training courses, seminars, job shadowing, networking, learning partnerships and mobilities.

Dialogu Nams is not a religious or ethnic organization. It aims to facilitate dialogue on a whole range of social issues, regardless of any particular faith or religion. It stands for democracy, human rights, the non-instrumentalisation of religion in politics, equality and freedom of speech.

Vision
The lack in development of the dialogue between cultures and people, both in the past and in the present, becoming the source of many serious problems.
In a world with globalization trend towards a narrowing of distance and time, the problems and difficulties associated with lack of dialogue and awareness become more apparent and threaten the world peace. Therefore, the development of dialogue is very important.
Of course, there can be a misunderstanding between nationalities and people with different cultural backgrounds, but their solution is necessary to possess objective information and to have a strong bond, which is possible only through dialogical learning.
Speaking of dialogue, we mean not blind copying and imitating each other. In our understanding, dialogue is a versatile tool that allows everyone to be themselves and still cooperate on an equal basis with the representatives of all cultures and nations.
Dialogu Nams aims to become one of the platforms in Latvia for a dialogue in all spheres of social issues.
Mission
Dialogu Nams believes its mission is to: bring inhabitants together to spread the idea of tolerance and dialogue in Latvia, to advance social cohesion by connecting communities, to empower people to engage and contributing to the development of ideas on dialogue, to cross-cultural communication and community building, to bring people together through discussion forums, courses, capacity building publications and conferences, and aims to facilitate dialogue on a whole range of social issues.

General Information
Biedrība Kooltūras designs and implements intercultural activities that empower individuals, strengthen democratic values, and support sustainable development. It operates with the help of volunteers and works closely with local Municipalities and local schools to spread our message. The working methods are based on non-formal education taking into account the needs, interests and the experiences of participants. Because we are a newly established organization our yearly budget is still low. However, we intend to improve in a short term, our financial situation by identifying and applying for local, national and international funding opportunities.

The mission of Biedrība Kooltūras is to progress social cohesion by promoting respect and mutual understanding among people of different cultures through intercultural training.
Objectives and thematic fields of the organization:
- to provide intercultural training solutions available to community groups and educators, helping organizations build sustainable capacity by better integrating diverse cultural perspectives influencing workplaces and communities;
- to promote the intercultural competences based on the principles and values of human rights;

General Information

NGO URGA is a film and production studio dedicated to promote education and creativity through filmmaking.  Estabilshed in 1999 the studio started as a laboratory where children and youth had the possibility to develop their skills in the field of audio and video technologies by filming and editing and making own films. The professionals working in the studio estabilshed an entvirontment for fillmmakers aiming at creating high quality production for TV and cinema. Since then URGA has produced fiction and animation films, video and audio advertising as well as music videos. Our productions have participated and have been awarded in European and International film festivals. The studio is based in creativity centre for youth "2 ANNAS" in Riga. Our main funding sources include state funding coming from Riga town hall and Culture Capital Fund of Latvia.  

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is empowering youth to to become skilled social and critical creators and thinkers rather than passive consumers of the media. Among our key priorities are: eliminating barriers between people with different cultures, different native languages and interests; raising young people’ s awareness of the aching problems of our world; inviting exploration and thinking about social roles and stereotypes, gender equality and intercultural dialogue through film; give all young filmmakers, an opportunity to access film training and digital technology skills; enable local filmmakers to estabilsh international connections and future co-productions.

Main Projects / Activities

Our main activities include training youth on editing and filming trough courses, organising workshops on fillmaking with participation of field professionals, producing high quality film and animation videos. Our main project each year is the international film festival "2 ANNAS". The festival searches and introduces with innovative ways of visual communication on an international level. The main objective is to show the various problems of our world and encourage a dialogue between the film viewers.  In 2007 the festival became and an international film festival and started to offer Baltic and International competition programmes. During the festival cinema and audiovisual professionals and students as well as everybody interested are given the opportunity to see films that are showcased in  film festivals like Berlinare, Tampere, Annecy, Sundance and others.

We can conribute with the promotion of their ideas and values, share with our experience in work with youth and film, participate in events, promote opportunities of the network among our international partners.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

During our 16 years experience as an NGO in the cinema field, we have learnt on our own that art is strong way to unite people. It speaks about different issues, searches for common values and breaks cultural barriers. Everything connected with film- the production process as well as film festivals, connects work of different departments, people with different backgrounds, skills, tastes and personalities. We want to join the network because we are interested  in future international collaborations with young people and active organizations in order to develop new ideas, concepts and partnerships as well as broaden the intercultural dialogue for our youth.

General Information

The organisation is governed by the Board, the work is organized by the volunteers and project-based staff. At the current time being there is no paid staff available. The resources depends on the project incomes. The sources of funding: Jurmala city municipality grant, Active Citizen Foundation, Society Integration foundation. The NGO actively cooperates with the similar community NGOs, youth and human rights NGOs, with the local municipality and local area schools. The lates projects were on infrastructure development - making family friendly environment and playground, peace circle activities with multicultural participants, participatory forums of citizens of local area and similar. NGO is one of the main players to establish umbrella NGO for Jurmala community NGOs.

We do have a solid experience in creating arts projects for intercultural audiences (e.g .environmental play for the elementary school age children and similar).

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Our work is in line with the mission of the ALF Network. We are working on building more inclusive society in local community of Jurmala through various activities. We believe we do have good practices to share woth the network members (e.g. we had peace circle project for multicultural community groups to get to know each other and other similar projects, local community forums to bring together community members through arts, music, environmental and joint actions).

General Information

Member organisations 23 + 41 individual members, the board consists of 5 persons, there is staff of 15 persons + volunteers. Financial resources of the organisation include different projects, several foundations, individual donations, and private sector. The main directions of the work: 1) to provide social services (lawyer, psychologist, psychotherapist, social worker, couching specialist) for women in difficult life situations (domestic violence, sex trafficking, and prostitution); 2) to promote equality between women and men by making campaigns and providing policy advocacy; 3) education (language studies – English, Latvian, as well as work with young boys and girls in the groups). Cooperation is made with institutions as Equality NOW, the European Women's Lobby, Swedish Women Martha Association in Finland, S-Kvinnor in Sweden, Zontas in Stockholm, etc.
