Mapping on Translation in the Mediterranean region

In 2012, the Anna Lindh Foundation and Transeuropeennes launched the publication the very first mapping study on the current status and challenges of translation in the Mediterranean region.  The Mapping publication, available in Arabic, English and French, was the result of a 2-year process.

A unique dimension of the mapping study is that it took into account the various aspects and actors of translation, including: authors, translators, publishers, booksellers, librarians, literary critics and funding donors. The study, which will be the basis for a new Euro-Med programme, also brings to light various challenges of translation from an economic, cultural and political perspective.
