Mission and Objectives

The Foundation for Social Diversity (FSD) is an independent, non-government organization committed to developing an open and inclusive society in Poland in the context of cultural, religious, ethnic and racial diversity. The FSD is interested in critically and constructively addressing the impact of international social, economic and political forces on the migration patterns that produce diverse societies, the social policies designed to regulate migration and foster integration on a national level, as well as the process of developing an open and tolerant society locally. We are also interested in a critical study of the history of social diversity in Poland as a meaningful contribution to the debate on contemporary issues and experiences of migration, discrimination and integration. We believe that an interdisciplinary approach is crucial to overcoming the greatest challenges that confront the full realization of policies and practices that ensure equal treatment and inclusion in the context of social diversity.

Main Projects / Activities

The FSD works in the following three activity areas: Contribute to research that increases knowledge about social diversity, integration and inclusion, and develops concrete tools to support social integration and inclusion. Foster public debate on issues broadly related to social diversity. Create space for exchange and cooperation between social leaders and institutions working to support individuals and social groups who are at risk of social exclusion or discrimination as a result of their race, religion, nationality, ethnic background. Provide support to individuals and communities, such as migrants, multicultural schools, representatives of public administration working with migrants.
