EBU announces media partnership for MED FORUM 2016

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced a new partnership with the Anna Lindh Foundation for this year’s MED FORUM in Malta. EBU Member Maltese broadcaster PBS will be the official media partner of the event in Valletta.

EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre said: “We know the media has an incredibly important role to play in improving understanding between peoples. Public service broadcasters can help address the gaps in public perception that are often exploited by those movements of division in the world.


MED FORUM 2016 launch event in Valletta highlights Malta's strategic role as a connection point in the Mediterranean

Valletta, 14 September 2016 - A regional launch took place today for MED FORUM 2016, the largest civil society gathering and most influential process of its kind for intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean space. The theme of the launch event was "legacy" with a focus on how to further leverage next month's MED FORUM to support Malta's strategic role as a connection point between Europe and the Southern Mediterranean, and Valletta's role as European Cultural capital and a "Mediterranean Capital for Dialogue".

Rome, 8 September 2016 - The following statement was delivered today by members of the Advisory Council of the Anna Lindh Foundation, the institution’s think-tank mandated to advise the Foundation’s 42-country intergovernmental Board, regional network of 4500+ CSOs, and international secretariat in Alexandria. The Advisory Council meeting in Rome was presided by the President of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Elisabeth Guigou, with members from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.


Stockholm hosts the Nordic-Baltic Civil Society Dialogue Forum on Migration, Youth and Gender in preparation for MED FORUM 2016 in Malta

Gothenburg, 5 September 2016 - The National Museums of World Culture, the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) network coordinator in Sweden, organised on 8 and 9 September in Stockholm the first Anna Lindh Foundation Dialogue Forum for civil society organisations from the Nordic-Baltic region, namely Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Poland and Sweden. The Forum marked an important step for the preparation of the 2016 Anna Lindh Mediterranean Forum which will take place on 23 - 25 October in Valletta, Malta.
