Mission and Objectives

Our Forum of Cultures engages its activities for cultural diversity in unisson with theUNESCO Charter of 2001. The predecessor was already declared official member of the World Decade for Cultural Development. We persue these goals in relation to specific actual problems - religious, ecological, ethical, etc.

Among others: Actual projects: The worldwide exhibition: “Aesthetics and sustainability” Exhibition and Seminars on: “Patters of Another Order” (exchange Bologna-Berlin 2015) A German edition of the “Festival de la Cultures Soufie de Fès, Maroc: The famous encounter of these Muslim traditions in philosophy, religion, art, literature and dance with other cultures and the questions of our time wants to open up tothecountriesof Europe- inBerlin with concerts from Marocco, Turkey, Spain, Mayotte and speakers and artistsfrom Marocco, Germany, Niger,USA, Tunesia and others.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Following the activities of the “Jaspers Lectures on Matters of Our Time” we link an international network with a national one, concerning cultural issues of equally social and even political importance

“Jugend bewegt Europa” is made up of volunteers, who think of themselves as an open association independent of institutions or political parties. The emphasis of our projects is on youth meetings, panel discussions and advanced training. “Jugend bewegt Europa” receives funding from various foundations, Organisations and private donors. These means are raised for specific projects. The association is otherwise financed exclusively from membership dues. Projects have been sponsored by: Robert Bosch Stiftung, Landeszentrale für politische Bildungsarbeit Berlin, Jugend für Europa – Deutsche Agentur JUGEND, Deutsch-Polnisches Jugendwerk, as well as by European Parliament delegates, Members of the Bundestag and of the Abgeordnetenhaus in Berlin.
Mission and Objectives

“Jugend bewegt Europa” would like to participate in the coalescence of Europe and our members are of the opinion that Europe should not remain a Europe of the political elites but should be a Europe of and for the citizens. Therefore, the association is engaged in the promotion of an active civil and social commitment.
Through our projects, we would like to make the European institutions and decision-making processes transparent and bring Europe with its political design closer to the people.

Main Projects / Activities

“Jugend bewegt Europa” is a forum for projects which revolve around the integration of Europe. These projects can take on different formats and directions.
Through meetings, “Jugend bewegt Europa” would like to unite young individuals from all over Europe, familiarise them with national and European institutions and their representatives, and help them explore political, economic, and cultural commonalities as well as differences in Europe. “Jugend bewegt Europa” takes part in European debates and provides information on politics, economics,
Culture and society, via its discussions, conferences and seminars.

General Information
Frauenakademie München e.V. (FAM) or Women's Academy, Munich, is an independent, non-profit research institute based in Munich. FAM is funded through the Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts (basic aid). Current running projects are funded through: European Social Found, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, City of Munich and others.

Its goal is to support women in achieving equal positions in science, economy, politics and the public arena.

Main Projects / Activities

The major fields of FAM’s activity are research, education, consultancy, networking and lobbying. Its reach is regional, national and international. FAM works in close association with other institutions and individuals particularly in order to disseminate information and results of women and gender studies. Since its foundation in 1984, FAM's research activities have been well recognised especially in the areas of employment research, gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting as well as feminist theory.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Reaching out to policy makers and including them in awareness raising and campaigning activities for better implementation of the gender related issues. FAM works together with other NGO’s, research organisations, universities and ministries and policy makers.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

To exchange and work together with other ALF-Partners working on Gender Equality and transformation process in Egypt. Networking and exchange with German and Egyptian experts and to develop together new approaches for better implementation of democratic principles.

General Information
The non-profit association Freunde der arabischen Kinemathek, Berlin e.V. (Friends of the Arab Cinematheque) was founded in 2004 by intellectuals and culture professionals in Berlin to present and promote Arab Film art. Through its focus on film and visual arts, the association presents fresh perspectives from the Arab world to the German public. The work of the association is mainly funded by its members and private donations, while some projects find funding and support by cultural funds and institutions such as the Goethe Institut. The association works politically and ideologically independent and cooperates with Arab and international partners, as well as local partners in the field of culture.
Mission and Objectives

The association aims to raise attention towards Arab film and culture in the German cultural landscape and to establish a network for intercultural dialogue.

Main Projects / Activities

ALFILM – Arab Film Festival Berlin – was initiated as an annual venue to provide a platform for Arab film production in Germany, where stereotypes are confronted with original stories and images. Along to presenting a panorama of films from the Arab world, ALFILM aims to discover emerging filmmakers and to access new narratives and challenges. Beyond that, ALFILM offers filmmakers, producers, experts, and distributors a forum for artistic exchange, allowing further cooperation and development of new projects.

The Shanti Foundation is committed to making encounters between people possible and promotes the testing and exploration of new and sustainable formats for encounters. The foundation is looking for personalities from culture and civil society who examine the existing and explore the new formats. There are two different funding options:

1. a scholarship for a journalistic or literary report or 2. project funding.

Culture Moves Europe supports cultural mobility in all 40 Creative Europe countries. It is funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by Goethe-Institut. The Individual Mobility Action targets artists and cultural professionals who are legal residents of the 40 Creative Europe countries, at least 18 years old and active in one of the participating sectors. They receive financial support to carry out a project with a partner in another Creative Europe country. Applications are open to individuals and groups of up to five people.
