The German- Syrian Organisation was established recently „2016“. Even though it could support many projects such as music teaching in refugees camps, refugees visiting to discuss the difficulties they face and a music-theatre project (Von Kadmus nach Europa – „Die Welt ist groß und Rettung lauert überall“ ) in the city of Oldenburg in cooperation with city Oldenburg, Staatstheater Oldenburg, Evangelische Akademie.

Special emphasis is put on academic and non-academic education, on cultural music programs, literature, movies, theatre, on supporting and completing other cultural foundations and on organizing manifold meetings and political discussions. Recently the forum has also taken on social questions, which concern German-Turkish Stuttgart citizens.
During all the years of its activities, the German-Turkish Forum has become the most sought after and reliable cooperation partner. Its activities have attracted interest within the Federal Republic of Germany and in Turkey. The initiative of the forum has contributed to the charisma and reputation of Stuttgart, the capital of the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg. The great effort Stuttgart has made to integrate immigrants successfully has been honoured in the state- and city comparison.

The German Commission for UNESCO advises the Federal Government, Parliament and all other public bodies on UNESCO issues, as well as on selected issues in the competence of the Council of Europe. It coordinates the contribution of German experts and civil society to the drafting of UNESCO’s programmes and norms. The DUK is responsible for providing information and for public awareness activities in German on all of UNESCO’s areas of work, together with its partner organisations in Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
