#ALFCitiesInDialogue - Schools for Dialogue

Tools and means to do intercultural and -religious dialogue
Kulttuuri- ja uskontofoorumi FOKUS ry (Finland)

This project was organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation National Network member Kulttuuri- ja uskontofoorumi FOKUS ry (Finland) in the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation Intercultural Cities programme.

Intercultural and interreligious dialogue is necessary for building equality and a sense of belonging in society and in education. While being often rewarding, conducting such dialogues is also difficult, risky and challenging for educators. In order to conduct successful dialogue education in schools and kindergartens, there is a need for public attention to these needs and challenges as well as concrete tools for promoting and conducting such education.

The webinar and educational video material is addressing these themes and highlighted the need for dialogue in educational contexts as well as introduced tools for building more equal and diversity-friendly learning environments.

The event is a sequel to the event organised in the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation Virtual Marathon for Dialogue in the EuroMed in May 2021. Whereas the event in May focused on introducing these topics from various perspectives and collecting and discussing experiences, this event grabbed onto more concrete tools and experiences of their use.

The main aim of this project is to contribute to providing information and tools for enhancing dialogue skills and cultural and religious awareness among educators, children and youth.
