UPBEAT MUSIC HOUSE

Mediterranean Day Concert Artist

Malta held the first Malta African Festival of Arts (MAFA) in May 2023, a unique series of events spread over five days to celebrate African arts. This festival was jointly run by CCIF and Upbeat Music House, and was sponsored separately by the VOPS programme of MCVS and Agenzja Zghazagh. This festival provided a platform to Africans living in Malta a chance to showcase their artistic talent through music, dance, theatre, African fashion and designs as well as mouthwatering food. MAFA will be an annual feature during the week celebrating Africa Day in May covering five days. On 28 th November 2023, Upbeat Music House will be hosting theDay of the Mediterranean” – a day dedicated to cherishing our shared identity, embracing our common heritage, and nurturing the love we hold for the enchanting Mediterranean through music. Tsungai Tsikirai will be the star perfomer all the way from London, UK. The performance will take place at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta and will be livestreamed. Annah Lindh Foundation invited civil society entities, to submit proposals for community-based musical performances (non-profit-no ticket sales). Upbeat Music House a member of the Local Network was selected and is hosting a music event simultaneously with other selected NGOs in different countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region on November 28, 2023.

The objective of the events are to orchestrate simultaneous free musical performances across different countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region on the same day and time (around 19.00-20.00 CET, and to generate a wave-like effect in celebrating the Mediterranean and its diversity at community level. Sadly the event is happening with the backdrop of the war between Hamas and Israel. We will also use the concert to remember innocent victims from both sides of the divide that have lost their lives and urge the parties to find each other and come up with a lasting solution. Tickets for the free event can be obtained from the link below
