Thanks to the team and all participants of Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange, Debate Exchange Activities

الصورة
Thank you

The German ALF-coordinator wants to thank all the participants and the entire team of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange activities!  ZAK, Centre for Cultural and General Studies at KIT, is proud to have successfully contributed as a third party to the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange programme from 2018 till 2020. The online Debate Exchange activity involved many young people from the Euro-Mediterranean region either as Debate Team Leaders or as Debate Participants. The most debated topics in this year were the impact of Covid-19, online learning, migration, human rights, racism, climate change, mental illnesses, artificial intelligence, and multiculturalism.

Overall, in 2020, Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange offered nine online debate cycles starting from February and ending in November 2020. In addition to the regular debate cycles, two Euro-Med Debate Online Competitions were organised in April and August 2020.

The Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange initiative was launched in 2018, with the aim to offer young people the opportunity to engage in an intercultural learning experience online. Three years later, we have fascinating stories, experiences, and insights to share.

At the #ErasmusVirtual closing event, #VirtualExchange experts, educators, youth workers and university staff are announcing findings, reflecting on lessons learned and celebrating the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange achievements. Please find the recordings of the final event here.

General Information
Structure: Board consists of seven members, head of the organisation is Elisa Gelewski, deputy head is Jürgen Voss, treasurer is Brigitte Nevries. Budgetary resources: projects grants (amounts vary). Modalities of action: For the future we plan to conduct inter/national programms with Turkey (exchanges and seminars) for artistic and environmental education in biological diversity and climate protection. Main partners are schools and NGOs in Turkey (e.g. Kultür Eklisia Organization near Bodrum).
Mission and Objectives

Inter/national development, promotion, networking, and realisation of artistic, ecological, educational, social projects and ideas of different kinds, that are cultural, not for profit, democratic and ideally innovative. Our aim is also to improve the cultural participation in gender politics and to improve quality of life for people with disabilities and social challenges. Our target group are children and youth in Turkey. Ways to fullfill our mission are exemplary: Establishment of nature reserves and new plantation of forest.

Main Projects / Activities

Prior to the official founding of the artemis project, we conceptualized and organized a street art event in Berlin in order to save 200 old trees. Parts of the project were: "Human chain against chain saws" with 1.500 people, occucupation of trees, active climate protection through spreading of seeds that are not genetic engeneered. "Tree fairies" promoted the respect for nature: they connected with passers-by to raise their awareness for climate change and handed out these seeds to motivate the people to plant their own trees. The special aim of the project was also to involve the Turkish and Arab community of Berlin.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

There is plenty of options for us to contribute to the network. We'd be delighted to have the chance to not only meet likeminded organizations, but also share our experiences and knowledge.
Especially we could imagine to find and invite partners to expand our network of the Digital Participation Camp and the Easy Languages project. Once a year we invite young digital activists from the Euromed region to work together on new digital projects that have a social impact. (www.dpsummit.org).
The Easy Languages project (www.youtube.com/learnlanguages) at the same time is an open project that invites youth from all over the world to join and contribute to the exchange of free language learning and cultural learning material. We would be very happy for any partner interested to join both networks.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We heard from our partners from UNESCO national commission of Germany (ASPNET Schools Germany) about the ALF Network and their events. Our partners have recommended us to join the network in order to meet and exchange with likeminded organizations and individuals which we are more than interested to do, especially since our organization is also focussed on the intercultural youth exchange between Arab and European youth.

General Information

The Sultan is the common denominator for pop fans from all cultures. Eastern and Western influences are combined through the artist's diverse music and entertainment projects.

The turban-wearing entertainer is represented in the main pop culture media channels: As a singer and influencer, comic figure and producer, “The Sultan” is turning into an established star with international cult potential.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to become the global leader in diversity & positive representation of modern-Oriental culture in music, media, live performance and film / cartoon.

The Sultan is a magic carpet ride to all cultures. It's a unique and independent pop music entertainment project with a
positive and humorous twist to build bridges and integrate eastern cultures with others.

The Sultan aims to be an ambassador of Oriental cultures in western media by blending Western trends within his music and visual content. By removing the misunderstandings and fear of cultures stigmatized by Western media, the Sultan project aims to create experiences that integrate Eastern values for positive representation and inspire more inclusivity.

Building a bridge between cultures via entertainment and solving diversity problems in the western media:
• Few media role models with oriental charm
• Image problem and poor positive representation of the Orient
• Little inclusion of oriental & Asian artists

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The Sultan can represent Anna Lindh Foundation's interests in an entertaining way and interact as a media ambassador with continuous creative content creations, press releases and marketing. This is a unique way to reach a fresh and young audience of todays time!

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

The Sultan's mission matches with the mission of the Anna Lindh Foundation. We are looking for a strong strategic and financial partner to pull together so we can reach our mission targets.
