ALF Hands-On training module 4:  Leadership by Soft Skills: Dialogue & Transparency

July 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st, August 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th, 18:30 - 20:30 CEST

Our training tackles the domain of “Strategic Planning, Governance and Leadership” from an innovative angle. Participants will explore a much wider perspective on the field, based on our action-oriented participatory approach. They will understand better their leadership role in the Civil Society context that has many contradictions in terms of goals and interests. During the training, we will discuss and practice tools to strengthen good administration and transparency, while emphasising the importance of relating to the needs and hopes of all, and to use creativity and empathy to find win-win formulas. Furthermore, the leaders will use participatory methods that increase a deep sense of ownership among all members of their organisation. Civil Society leaders are invited to take part in a dedicated training to improve their professional capabilities to lead while connecting with the soft skills of consensus building and proactive engagement of all – staff, Board, beneficiaries and stakeholders. Every session will be structured in a dialogical manner – after a brief introduction to the main topic of the session, participants will be divided into small working groups to discuss the topic from their own perspective and expertise, taking into account the work of their own Civil Society Organisations. The small groups will change from session to session, to promote networking and deep acquaintance between all participants. Alongside the weekly meetings, we will create a WhatsApp group with all participants and encourage them to support each other during and beyond the duration of the training.
