General Information

We are a small company, the first Permaculture center of Tunisia, publicly known as L'ombre du palmier. We are active since 2013 but registered since 2019. We have currently 2 staff members. We are nominee of several programs recognizing our environmental and social involvement: Green'it program (Funded by the PNUD), Woman Go Green (Funded by AFD), JeunEss (funded by Europe), Visit Tunisia (funded by USAID). Those programs allowed us to build capacity in management and business skills as well as offering investment fundings. As a company, we drive revenus from our educational activities and project consulting. Truely engaged in transitioning our community towards sustainability, we got funded by the GIZ to train and coach our neighbours to preserve soils.

Mission and Objectives

To face global warming and economic crisis we need resilient communities that are able to catter for their basic needs. L'ombre du palmier offers trainings and coaching in permaculture to equip regenerative project owners and communities with an ecomindset and technical tools. Our objectives are to deliver high standard courses for professionals, to accelerate ecofarms projects with an inovative program, and to educate ecocitizen.

Main Projects / Activities

Our main activites are:
- online and onsite courses about permaculture and relative topics such as ecobuilding
- ecofarm acceleration: a 12 months program with online permaculture course, one to one coaching and on site sessions
- soft education with guided tours of our permaculture farm and hosting volunteers from around the world
- consulting and applying for funded projects to reach people that can't afford our services

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We are a leading organisation in sustainable development and we can contribute to spread an ecomindset in tunisian culture, that we strongly believe helps to build more equal societies. We are well known for our engagement and reliability and we can share our expertise to contribute to ALF programs in Tunisia or elsewhere.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Permaculture is not just about agroecology, it's about building sustainable communities, that implies social justice and rights for a quality livelyhood.
We feel very much aligned with the ALF goals and mission and we would gladly join to existing movement in Tunisia.
