Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Lodz is state artistic university. 4 Faculties: - Textile Art and Fashion Design - Graphic Art and Painting - Industrial Design - Visual Education Number of permanent staff: 304 2. Budgetary resources for 2006: 21.152.000 PLN (about 5.288.000 Euro) 3. Sources of funding: - Polish Ministry of Culture - Local Authorities - Part-time students fee - National and International Projects 4. Activities of the Academy: - providing education - organisation of exhibition (providing of 4 own galleries) - organisation of seminars and conferences focused on arts and cultural heritage - international co-operation with cultural institutions 5. Mission and Objectives

- providing arts research centre and artistic centre
- development of knowledge and artistic skills students and academic staff
- promotion of Polish modern art
- promotion active participation arts in everyday life
- active participation in the international artistic life

Main activities of the Academy:
- providing education on the B.A. and M.A. studies
- organisation of exhibition for artists and students ( providing of 4 own galleries)
- organisation of seminars and conferences focused on arts and cultural heritage
- international co-operation with cultural institutions

- publishing artistic publications
