General Information
Alexandria Business Association began its activities in 1983 to provide support to the private sector, promote the interests of the business community, provide networking opportunities, consolidate business and social ties and present members’ views to the government. This concept soon developed beyond advocacy to encompass community service. The Alexandria Business Association was registered in March 1988 as a non-profit, non-government organization.
Mission and Objectives

Developing a pro-active approach as a professional business association in representing and supporting its members’ interests in the business environment in Alexandria, Egypt and abroad.
Boosting the city of Alexandria industrially, economically and socially, enhancing Alexandria’s role as an important business hub in the region by improving workforce education and training, encouraging international business investment and opening new markets thus helping achieve economic prosperity and worldwide recognition.

Main Projects / Activities

ABA Activities include:
1) Lobbying, undertaken separately and in co-operation with other bodies in the Egyptian society.
2) Providing members with information about the general business environment, with knowledge and know-how, and with keys of access to foreign markets, in order to improve their capability to face the challenges of globalization.
3) Social services, as part of a business community that believes in its responsibility to improve the welfare of its employees, their working and living conditions, and in shaping the future of their communities.
Services provided to Members:
1- Provide members with current information about local and foreign markets.
2- Organize seminars and events that address economic issues of interest to businessmen.
3- Organize business delegations to visit foreign markets and participate in government missions.
