Mémoires Méditerranéennes was founded to contribute to the safeguard and enhance, in the field of human and social sciences , some elements of historical heritage of the Mediterranean area. It collaborates with 3 public institutions: the CAOM (centre of Outre-mer archives) The IREMAN (Institute of research and studies on the Arab and Muslim world ) and the MMSH. Initially Centered on the collection of private documentary funds for the benefit of the public institutions, the activity of Mémoires méditerranéennes was then extended to operations of valorization (conferences and exhibitions) turned towards the scientific public and towards the general public and putting in synergy various documentary and potentials of research , with the support of public institutions and private sponsors.
Principal scientific conferences: literatures and colonial time, France and Egypt ,Robert Randau, the English and French mandates in the Middle East, Gabriel Bounoure, Selim Takla, states and societies of the Middle East in future quest. Principal exhibitions (realized with the support of French archives): colonial literatures , Moroccan writings , Algeria and France, crossed destiny and immaginary (realized in the frame of the year of Algeria , then presented in France and in Algeria). Projects in progress : text against the image of the productions related to the Maghreb, Memories of the assessment of the cooperation, Textbooks in the Western Mediterranean. Publications: ten writings and published catalogues.
