General Information

Başkent University was established by Law No. 3961 published in the Official Gazette dated January 13, 1994, based on the Decree Law No. 515 dated September 14, 1993, in Ankrara, Türkiye. The aim of our university is to raise people who reach the universal knowledge required by the information age and have the skills to use the information; who have knowledge and experience in the fields of health, education, humanities, law, communication, arts, environment, industry, trade and technology; and who are researchers, and dynamic and sensitive to the problems of the country; who are successful in their professions and business world; who are open to competition; who are closely related to the international environment; who maintain our artistic, cultural and historical values; and who are sensitive to the environment. Baskent University conducts education and research activities on three campuses, particularly the Bağlıca Campus, with 11 Faculties, 1 State Conservatory, 6 Vocational Schools, 7 Institutes and School of Foreign Languages. In addition to educational activities, the University has. The application hotels of the university; Kızılcahamam Patalya Thermal Resort and Gölbaşı Patalya Lakeside Resort Hotels provide services for the applications of our students within the framework of educational activities.

Mission and Objectives

The vision of Başkent University is to become an international brand, a home that provides high-level education based on scientific production in all fields of advanced health practices and transforms it into social added value on the way to being above the line of contemporary civilization.

Main Projects / Activities

Baskent University conducts education and research activities on three campuses, particularly the Bağlıca Campus, with 11 Faculties, 1 State Conservatory, 6 Vocational Schools, 7 Institutes and School of Foreign Languages. In addition with "Creative Cultural Industries REsearch Center (YAKEM) (2016) and Başkent University UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage and Digital Memory (2020) have main role in developing international cultural dialofue through different events and projects. How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

YAKEm, as a creative industries research center in Ankara, Turkey, can contribute significantly to the ALFinMOTION network. By fostering equal partnerships and collaboration among intercultural dialogue operators, the center can enrich the network with diverse perspectives based from our multiculutral regional setting. Its focus on interdisciplinary responses aligns well with ALFinMOTION's goals, providing valuable insights into pressing issues like culutral diversity, knowledge production on cultural sector. and developing co-creative events. Additionally, the center can leverage the mobility program to facilitate face-to-face initiatives, promoting support for representatives from complementary organizations across Türkiye. This dynamic engagement enhances the network's effectiveness and promotes a thriving community dedicated to addressing shared challenges.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

YAKEM intends to add value to international efforts on fostering equal partnerships and collaboration among intercultural dialogue operators. Our goal is to support NGOs and other relevant bodies that aim to provide interdisciplinary solutions to urgent issues. WE would be pleased to contact and work with institutions in network through the mobility program in order to initiate a dynamic exchange of ideas and expertise.
