mission statement: to stimulate cultural solidarity by means of different cultural tools; to offer different perspectives; to show an event from all sorts of different angles; in short: to increase our ability to empathize.
Debalie focuses on crossing boundaries, building bridges and leveling thresholds: between art and politics, between Western and Non-Western cultures, between generations, genders and sexual preferences, between strangers and acquaintances.

Main Projects / Activities

Few of our main recurring projects are the INFOWARROOM (mediacriticism) ZINA (concerning Islamic women) How Globalised Are You? (concerning globalization), Culturebase (open source software development), the Living Archive (program concerning the usage of new media and digital technology to create (live) virtual active participation of the audience) and Docuzondag (Documentary Film Program).
