The mission of the Foundation of Social and Political Research is to catalyze and produce pioneering social science research and to shape public policy by integrating knowledge and methods across the social science disciplines.
The main objective of the institute is to promote scientific research in all fields associated with the social, political and cultural development as well as the relationship between society and its members. In cooperation with established institutes both in Cyprus and abroad the institute follows closely with any interactive developments in the political, social and cultural issues or problems, aiming at the upgrade of knowledge in the current society of citizens.
The Foundation realizes exchanges of research associates with other Institutes from Cyprus and abroad, for mutual cooperation and development of useful networks, within the political and social sciences discipline. The Foundation is currently preparing many European research proposals, within the Justice and Home affairs Directorate and the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation. More specifically, the first proposal will deal with the support to NGOs in the 10 new Member States from the European Union in the areas of regular and fair elections as well as media pluralism. Also a number of research proposals are being prepared to be submitted to the EuroMed Foundation, in the areas of Health, Music, Economics and Culture.
