- Human rights
The issues of human rights protection is the main field of our activity. We put emphasis on education in the area of human rights. Organizing public actions, meetings, protests, workshops or long-lasting projects we try to react to instances of human rights breaking. We also work in the issues of animation, through our actions we would like to encourage other organizations or non-formal groups to take civic actions in their communities. We build the civic community also through supporting smaller and younger organizations and groups. We offer them substantial organization and logistic assistance. Multiculturalism – both in the historical and contemporary aspect - is also an important area of our work. We learn and teach about the history of our place, especially the forgotten one.
At the moment one of our main undertakings is the project „Welcome to Lublin”. This project is addressed to foreigners studying and living in Lublin. In general – the aim of our project is to improve the standard of living of Lublin inhabitants (not only foreigners). We run help desk and a web portal which are aimed at helping foreigners with any problems they encounter as newcomers and unfamiliar with the Polish language. Especially for them we organize workshops, meetings and tours which aim at acquainting them with the reality of living in Lublin and also showing them interesting places where they can spend their free time, moreover, we teach them Polish. Apart from conducting lessons for children from the Refugee Centre in Leonów, we prepare audiobook trips around Lublin, publish a magazine „Opornik” (Resistor) and organize movie festivals and multucultural trips.
