The Israeli National Center of Blue Economy was established following the decision of Israel’s Inter-Ministerial Committee for the management of maritime space, to declare Haifa as the capital of Blue Economy and blue tech innovation of Israel. The center cultivates technological innovation and initiatives addressing sustainable maritime space. It forges partnerships between research institutes, industry, ports, environmental and community bodies. It also is an incubator for early-stage innovation. As of current, the center works with 14 startups and entrepreneurs with a focus on sustainable ocean tech. These initiatives are connected to resources, services, and infrastructure to achieve commercial success, both nationally and internationally.
