General Information

Kemet Boutros Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge (KBG) was established in 2018 by a group of prominent figures of culture and diplomacy. We, at KBG, seek to build on the legacy of Dr. Boutros Boutros Ghali (1922-2016) and we aim to continue and promote his core beliefs of dialogue, free access to information as well as peace and knowledge with an emphasis on Egyptian heritage and how it is reflected in Egypt's present strategic importance in the heart of the region and in the world at large.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is derived from our name. Kemet is the fertile land of Egypt, a multi-layered civilization that is as old as time and even as wise. The essence of Kemet lies in the way we have always celebrated our multicultural layers of civilization. This celebration can only be manifested through peace and knowledge:
Peace within the Family, Peace with nature and honouring it and peace within our-selves for acquiring self -knowledge is unlocking the gate to endless possibilities.
Knowledge is our legacy. Our ancestors excelled in art, medicine, science, architecture astronomy, and holistic medicine. Our aim is to revisit such knowledge and safeguard the intangible heritage that is very much alive and in tune with our daily lives. With free flow of knowledge we can build on our legacy.

Our vision rests on the full enjoyment of each human being of his/her cultural rights as guaranteed by International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Egyptian Constitution of 2014. KBG shares the same mission, vision and values with ALF. We at KBG strongly believe that culture emerges as an essential factor for both sustainable development and lasting peace. In fact, neither equitable progress nor social cohesion is truly possible if culture is left to one side. The road to inclusive social and economic development, environmental sustainability, peace and security is firmly grounded in culture, understood in its spiritual, material, intellectual, and emotional dimensions and encompassing diverse value systems, traditions and beliefs.
