All Jordan Youth Commission (AJYC), works under King Abdulla II Fund for Development (KAFD), and was established on October 5, 2006 as a recommendation of the All Jordan Youth Forum, which was held under the Royal patronage on Tuesday and Wednesday September 12-13, 2006 and attended by 750 young people representing various universities and youth institutions from all over the country.
Vision: To communicate with the Jordanian youth wherever they reside to motivate their potential and be directed towards boosting their communities, raise awareness of the various issues and national challenges, and to activate their role as a real partner with an influential role in economic, social, political and cultural life. Objectives: - Communicate with the Jordanian youth and encourage them to contribute to the development of their communities. - Raise the intellectual and creative capabilities and develop the initiative spirit among young people. - Activate the communication channels with young people to read their views and positions on national issues. - Engage young people to participate in political, economic, social and cultural life. - Promote and regulate the process of engaging young people in productive voluntary work.
AJYC Achievements: AJYC implements partnership programs with a number of public and private sectors and different organizations to strengthen the role of young people, including: Parliament, Ministry of Municipalities, Judicial Council, Amman Greater Municipality, Authority of Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZA), municipalities, the Ministry of Political Development, the Ministry of Culture, National Information Technology Center / Knowledge Stations, Institutions of the State, Universities and community colleges, schools, vocational training centers, the National Training and Employment Company, Knowledge Horizon. Educational and training institutions Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS), Al-Shajarah Association, Al Aman Fund, Jordan River Foundation (JRF), Al Hayat Center for Civil Development, NetCorps Jordan. Civil Society Institutions Department of Family Protection, Community Police, Department of Anti-Narcotics. Ministry of Domestic & Police Department Official Petra news agency, newspapers Ornament, supplements of young people, news websites. The Media National Microfinance Bank, youth centers (Higher Council for Youth) Injaz, Irada, Jordanian center for Studies and Civic Education. Institutions and youth development programs Umniah communications company and others - Training youth on the basic tools required to enhance their productivity, including English Language, Computer, Communication and small businesses skills. - Many debate sessions and interactive workshops were held to raise awareness among youth on national issues and challenges, and to engage them to take their role and responsibility. - AJYC volunteers participated in social-economic field surveys in different regions to emphasis youth role in addressing their community challenges. - Various activities ranging between youth empowerment and community service were implemented to promote values of volunteerism among young people, including: Initiatives: AJYC provides and activates many creative youth initiatives for Jordanian youth, including: - Youth Microfinance Fund: In collaboration with the National Microfinance Bank, 72 small businesses were funded worth a total of (267,000) JD, which in turn provided more than 100 new jobs for young people. - Knights of Change (Change Makers) Award: Aims to reward entrepreneurial spirit, and promotes positive change among young people in many fields, including scientific research, voluntary work and pilot projects. - Youth Debate Club: Encourages young people to unleash their views while respecting others opinions through training them on debate management and art of discourse. 75 debate clubs were established in public schools.
