General Information
I am an author, documentary maker and former foreign correspondent. Since the late 1960s I have covered international relations and development issues, including conflicts, refugees, asylum seekers etc in various parts of the world. I have written six non-fiction books.
2015-2016 I worked as a visiting professor of journalism at the University of Tampere. The emphasis there was on foreign news reporting. I the spring of 2016 I organized a work shop for the students in Kenya and Uganda.
In the 2017 local elections I was elected to be a member of the city council of the city of Espoo in Finland as an independent Green party member. One of my roles will engage me wtih multicultural issues.
