General Information

Women Alive Organization is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization that focuses on building up justice, democracy and human rights mainly women’s rights.
Women Alive was founded in April 2021, as a partner organization of the Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Woman (LECORVAW), that completes its role and objectives and focuses on additional activities and mission within a more specialized and developed framework.

Mission and Objectives

The principal mission of “Women Alive” involves achieving gender justice and equality and elimination of all forms of discrimination, GBV, SGBV and E/GBV, in addition to women empowerment, and this through the following axis:
• To prepare and publish social and legal studies and researches related to women issues and discriminative laws.
• To prepare and submit reformative drafts of law for suppressive laws against women and girls, and repeal and amendment of articles (Lebanese Penal Code, Family Status Laws, Labor Law, Nationality Law, Election Law, etc...)
• To implement TOTs, trainings and workshops for experts for spreading awareness, advocacy and support of women rights and issues as well as legal reforms.
• To carry out cultural, social and growth activities to raise awareness on women issues and change the social mentality and structure that establish the culture of discrimination and violence against women (VAW)
• To focus on activities related to women empowerment for active participation in decision-making positions.
• To provide human aids and relief services to women and girls during war, armed conflicts, social and health crisis.
• To establish centers for men with aggressive behavior and offer them psychological consultation and support.
• To establish the family medication center to maintain stable and balanced family relations.
• To offer administrative and professional consultation related to organizations management.
• To release non-periodical publications on the organization’s activities, research and studies.
• To form coordinating networks with the civil NGO’s, women organizations and the stakeholders, on the local, regional and international levels, in order to emphasize women role and promote their rights,
• To network with mass media for support, advocacy and raising awareness.

• Vision:
Women Alive Organization seeks the promotion of a society that ensures gender equality and justice, a society that stands for socio-economic and democracy based on full citizenship right. Women Alive objective is to grow a society where all women and girls have the right to be treated with fairness and dignity, a society that provides safety, stability and equal opportunities for women to advance and access decision-making positions, and to engage them in the change process and ensure their integration in the different sectors, as empowered and capable women able to survive all crisis and conflicts that they might face, and to rise again based on their strength and potential towards fulfillment of their right of self-determination and right to choose the course of their lives.

Objectives:
Women and girl’s empowerment to develop leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
Help through conflict resolution activities to promote women-led peacebuilding dialogues.
Raise awareness on women rights and political life participation.
Focus on the basic concepts of gender-based violence (GBV) in terms of Women political participation and peacebuilding.
Ensure women’s access to justice and decision-making process.
Tackle social and gender norms related to women’s political participation.
Training and awareness on UN resolutions related to women’s rights.

Leaders Not Marginalized Project (CRTDA):
Target Groups:
• Survivors of EGBV (Economic Gender Based Violence)
• Women and girls Workers in private sector and vulnerable communities.
• Disabled, immigrants and displaced from all nationalities.
• Women and girls working in remote and rural areas.
• Men and women from the public community in general.
Objectives:
• Target women and girls to develop leadership and advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of women’s rights is increased through lobbying and advocacy, as well as knowledge related to discriminative laws in relation to EGBV.
• Target women and girls and the public community to take part of the mobilization and lobbying process in order to enhance networking and form alliances with stakeholders and partners to launch advocacy campaigns and fight EGBV.
