RMS is umbrella organization associating more than 42 children and youth organizations (over 70,000 young people). RMS is since 1990 serving organizations regardless to their political, national or ethnic background. The main target of the RMS is to influence state policy in compliance with legal order and to create conditions for the universal, free and democratic development of children and young people and to achieve their legitimate interests.
RMS collaborates with state authorities and those active in the field of interests of the RMS. RMS provides for members, observers and also to other subjects oriented on the help and the work for children and youth consulting, methodical and informational services and contributes to the creation of financial resources for the activities of children and youth organisations.
RMS cooperates also actively with partner organisations in abroad, with international governmental and non-governmental organisations.
Activities of 2007:
1.Service for members (Information service,Consultations,Technical support, Advocacy of interests)
2. PR and media of Youth work(Magazine “Zoom-m, focused on youth“, “@mladez.sk“,Public information portal “www.youth.sk“, Campaign „Help-Life without tobacco“, “Most“ ( The Bridge) - an RMS award recognizing the work that aims at supporting children and youth)
3. Advocacy of interests and policy shaping on national level(cooperation on creation of new financial mechanism ADAM,commenting of "Law on Youth" and other legislative documents)
4. Advocacy of interests and policy shaping on international level (Nationwide debates on „Future of Europe“,Conference on „AGENDA 2020“, European Youth Week, „BIG BANG“ event in Slovakia,Youth delegate at United Nations GA, European Youth Forum seminars and trainings)
