Established in 1999, to date KMF Productions has produced thirty-five documentaries in thirty-four countries in Africa, Asia, and The Americas.
With a title influenced by a Rory Gallagher song, its mainstay series What in the World? features compelling and profoundly moving stories of people whose lives have been framed by poverty and injustice.
In doing so, it challenges the sense of fatalism and inevitability that nothing can be done to alleviate that suffering and injustice.

Mission and Objectives

PROACTION FILM is a small Syrian Film & TV Production & Distribution Company established in late 2002 mainly by filmmakers and producers. Three years after the establishment, the team of realized that their capacity and objectives are not being met within the main-stream film & TV industry conditions and standards where the space and place to practice self-expression or tackle reality is very limited if not absent.
As of 2005, PROACTION FILM started initiating and producing independent productions of personal and creative aspects, established an independent creative documentary festival, and extended that with a regional independent capacity building arm that involves youth filmmakers, both females and males with a clear focus on originality of project, creativity and social values and special focus on gender, society, and children.
Today PROACTION FILM produces such films, programs and activitiesreflecting the team's capacities and objectives.
In PROACTION FILM, we seek integrity and independency in what we do. We invite others to join us to make a positive change. That is why we need to reach more people, succeed and make available for those who want to join the tangible resources by which they can make the commitment. Thus, securing feasibility and visibility for what we advocate is a must.
As filmmakers, producers, distributors and cultural events curators and organizers we believe, that no single specific form of development is needed. It is a challenge that we seek as it sustains our integrity and commitment and enables us to practice a balanced existence.
We believe in what Art & Culture, in general, can do to improve life.
Hence, were the cultural and social priorities that we are challenged to meet in projects and activities we do:
Pluralism
Creativity
Visibility
Sustainability
Progress

Main Projects / Activities

PROACTION FILM produces creative independent documentary films in Syria and in co-production with regional, european and international partners. These are highly creative doc films. In 2011, PROACTION FILM launched a collective thematic producing initiative "BALADI" /Arabic for "My Country"/ to produce and promote 5 Syrian documentaries that expresses the human conditions.
The team also run DOX BOX which is the independent & international Documentary Film festival in Syria that takes place every year in March offering free-of-charge public screenings in 6 screens over 9 days. General Information
The Cultural Forum for People with Disability (CFPWD) is the first Syrian NGO interested in cultural affairs and rights of PWDs. CFPWD aims at changing prevailing social attitudes towards disability by working on bringing out the potentials of PWDs and enabling them to take their earned position in the community and contribute to decision making. CFPWD was officially launched as a Syrian NGO interested in the cultural affairs and rights of PWDs by virtue of Resolution No. 1237 dated June 21st 2006 by the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
Mission and Objectives

CFPWD was created based on the belief that it is quite necessary to include PWDs in all aspects of the decision making process in order to change the reality in which creative PWDs live. Indeed, society has been used to judging creativity of PWDs according to their disabilities rather than viewing them as active citizens who influence and are influenced by their societies. Furthermore, PWDs often suffer from the prevailing superficial and emotional attitude towards them which is rooted in stereotypes, stigma and lack of belief in their abilities. As a result, the majority of PWDs are deprived of training, capacity building, and skills upgrading opportunities. Most often, their talents are lost, without being properly highlighted in the community.

Main Projects / Activities

• Promoting equality, equal opportunities and indiscrimination which are all enshrined in the Syrian constitution and principles of human rights and social justice.
• Changing prevailing attitudes towards disability, by creating an environment that is aware of PWDs potentials and resources, and utilizes them for the benefit of society as a whole.
• Creating an inclusive environment, by providing an infrastructure that permits PWDs to play their full role in society and live an equitable life, and by establishing mechanisms and strategies to enforce laws.
• Looking for talented PWDs and developing and nurturing such talents and creativity to ensure cultural inclusion.
• Promoting the values, rights and duties of citizenship, transparency, societal and individual responsibility for the development of the nation, active participation, respect of difference, equal opportunities, the inclusion of PWDs in all walks of life, creativity;and seeking to embed such values in all CFPWD’s programs, activities, and works.

We also organised family intercultural workshops "Family happiness of winter eves" which goal was to teach about catholic and jewish eves taking place in winter and as well inter-generation integration thanks to participation of people between 3 to 76 years old under facilitation of highly-qualified educators and psychologists. Right now we are on a process of preparing Israeli Folk Dance and Culture Workshops in Poland which is planned to take place in May 2014 and several intercultural and leadership programs for students and educators from Poland, Israel and other countries from Europe, Africa and Middle East. Mission and Objectives

Our main mission is to create a platform of developing friendship and understanding between people coming from various cultural, religious and social background. We want to promote a dialog, cooperation and democracy as a way to achieve better standars of life. We find it very important to work with people who have the biggest influence on youths like teachers and educators because we believe that the attitudes they present play a crucial role in raising children. We also find it important to strengthen leadership skills of young people, give them opportunity to develope competences in social communication, conflict management, expressing emotions in socially approved ways etc. One of our roles is as well fighting stereotypes and preudices by giving people a chance to learn and experience contact with representatives of other cultures under a suprvision and support of qualified facilitators.

Main Projects / Activities

Our two main projects carried out every year are:
- Cultural exchange for students from Poland and Israel (including also representatives of Polish and israeli minorities like: druze, arabs, beduins, gypsies). Participating in a project taking place for a week in Poland and a week in Israel gives them possibility not only to experience and discover the richness of other country culture but also to establish friendship relations with people from their country representing other cultural or religious background, learn from each other, exchange opinions and points of view.
- Seminars for Israeli teachers and educators in Poland- This project is extremely important because of a long and rich history of coexistance of Polish and Jewish nation and its tragic end during Second World War. Its aim is to deeper knowledge of Israeli teachers and educators in the field of 1000 years of Polish-Jewish common history, Polish-Israeli relations and contemporary Poland. ne of the most important things is to give them possibility to meet Polish students, teachers, volunteers, employees of non-governmental organizations. To establish person to person relations and discover real people after the wall of stereotypes and prejudices and see the reality that is often not exactly what participants imagine before. The project helps to establish also cooperation between educational, cultural and research centres and institutions from both countries.
Other projects:
Intercultural projects - we are planning to establish a series of workshops dedicated to families aiming to show culture of minorities in Poland and give possibility to meet its representatives.
In our closest plans is also preparing intercultural communication seminars for people from Israel (Jesh and Arabs), African, Middle-eastern and European countries
