The Interreligious Council of Albania was established on October 22, 2007 by the four leaders of the traditional religious communities in Albania, Haji Selim Muça (head of the Muslim community of Albania), His Beatitude Anastasios Yannoulatos (Archbishop of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania), Monsignor Rrok Mirdita (head of the Catholic Church of Albania), and Haji Dede Reshat Bardhi (leader of the Bektashi World Headquarter). At the meeting of the Board of Presidency on October 22, 2018, full membership of the Evangelical Brotherhood of Albania was approved, making it the fifth religious community of IRCA.
