Abstract

This article highlights the developments surrounding the polar relations surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, looking specifically at the development of populist governments in the wake of the 2997-2998 Eurozone financial crisis with the rise of leaders such as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The article then discusses the global pandemic COVID-19 and the ever-growing rivalry between the United States of America and China and what that is leading to in terms of a global conflict between totalitarian governments and liberal democracies. Lastly, the article discusses the implications of the Russian invasion of Ukraine specifically looking at the implications on a worldwide level. Highlighting the issues around it such as food insecurity and energy prices and the sources of energy.
