The Gender Equality Research Institute (IPES) developed this handbook for educators on gender-sensitive inclusion of migrant children in the educational process. Following the International Organization for Migration, IOM Slovenia’s participation in the conference on gender-responsive inclusion of migrant children in the educational process organised by IPES in June 2022, Ms Iva Perhavec, Head of Office of IOM Slovenia, contributed an editorial for the handbook, which is available in the Slovenian language. The handbook provides insight into migration-related challenges of discrimination and stereotyping. It also outlines how to implement gender-sensitive inclusion of children on the move in the educational setting, showcased by some good practices. The editorial by IOM Slovenia outlines an introduction to migration dynamics with an emphasis on gender perspective on the inclusion of migrant children in education.
