The “Mastering the Modern World” series will address a selection of skills which make the difference when seeking to have an impact on our communities. We will first embark on a journey into the future, which will allow us to train our imagination and storytelling skills. Right from the start, we shall also develop the resilience necessary to remain effective in an interconnected and digitalised world by focusing on our digital wellbeing. The third and fourth session will focus on respectful listening and managing disagreement. The fifth session aims to increase the participants’ awareness of how journalism and the media work and how they process and relay information. Participants will learn to question and critically analyse media reports, spot red flags, discover resources, and acquire tricks for double checking information. Sessions 6 and 7 will aim to improve creative and strategic thinking while building firm leadership and trust. Finally, the last two sessions will focus on community building and project management.

Format:

Sessions will be interactive and use a variety of methodologies and settings, including break-out rooms of various sizes, role-plays, online interaction apps and tools such as slido, project management tools such as basecamp, and survey tools such as jotform. The main language will be English.

Participants will have the chance to become part of the Our Common Future and ALDIC communities and will receive a diploma for their participation.
