Moreover, the majority of its activities is conducted together with foreign partners.
Mission and Objectives

Fostering and propagation of a new attitude to a common European heritage, an attitude that on the one hand is untarred by the brush of nationalism, yet on the other strongly accentuates the issues of identity, individual tradition and the roots of individual cultures. Our mission is also shaped by the challenge of the constant and highly dynamic relationship between the civilisation of the late twentieth and early twenty first centuries and the heritage of the past. This relationship is founded on a mutual interdependence: contemporary reality colours our approach to heritage, while our heritage is constantly correcting our attitude to contemporary reality. The founding of the ICC is not only an important experiment in terms of programme, but it also constitutes an attempt to seek new solutions at the meeting point of culture and economics. The core principle is to integrate academic research, educational programmes and promotional action.

Main Projects / Activities

• the concept of European civilisation • national stereotypes and issues of neighbourhood in an international context • national identity in the context of globalisation • cultural dialogue • collective memory • the multicultural nature of Central Europe Poland's place in Europe • cultural heritage and a new philosophy for its protection • the concept of the historic city • culture and development • the place of culture in society The above mentioned themes and many more are the basis of the following activities of the ICC: seminars, conferences, lectures, debates, summer schools, the post-graduate programme, research projects, exhibitions, publications, international projects.

General Information
IZROPA Institute is the first analytical unit in Poland, dedicated to the analysis of Israeli-European relations. Additionally, the Institute also provides the expertise within the following themes: Israeli-Palestinian and the wider Israeli-Arab relations with particular emphasis on European policy towards these issues. The site of operations of the Institute is Warsaw. The Institute functions as an independent think tank, formally registered as a foundation. IZROPA Institute is highly profiled and specialized unit. It intends to work closely with the Polish authorities both at the level of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister and the President. The analytical process is carried out in a meticulous manner in compliance with all principles of objectivity and professionalism.
Mission and Objectives

The primary mission of the Institute is to initiate and conduct research, create reports and analyzes on the following issues: the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, foreign policy, the State of Israel, the policy of the European Union and European countries to the Middle East conflict and the peace process, the Polish-Israeli and Polish foreign policy against the state of Israel. An innovative project to create the Institute IZROPA will outline political priorities towards Israel, not only in the context of Poland, but the entire Central European region and, consequently, will allow Poland to better shape an European foreign policy.
The establishment of the Institute IZROPA is even necessary having in regards the intensity of Polish-Israeli relations. In the past 10 years, these relationships are not just limited to the political sphere, but there was a wide space of military, cultural or educational cooperation. These positive aspects of cooperation were overshadowed by the unresolved issues such as the restitution of Jewish property or educational programs of Israeli youth visiting places of martyrdom in Poland. However even it those spheres we see much of the progress and reconciliation.
Our plan is extremely ambitious: within 2-3 years we would like to become a major space of analysis of the subject of Israel-European relations in Poland, providing expertise to Polish political elites. Within upcoming 4-6 years, we desire to become a major center for strategic analysis of the European-Israeli relations in the whole Central Europe. I would like to emphasize this strongly: this is the first such specialized analytical center in the whole region of Central European.

Main Projects / Activities

There are several projects being developed at the moment. We plan to carry on with the two important research projects dedicated to the relations between Central European countries and Israel. Apart from this we plan to organize the conference from the field of the Israeli studies next year.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We would like to bring our contacts and the knowledge of the Israeli partners.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We strongly believe that working together is the best way to achieve the progress and understanding in Euro-Mediterranean relations. Especially in terms of the science and analytical projects, teams consisting of international fellows are of the key importance. We would like to find stable partners and propose certain projects to carry out.
